my daughter is 9 months old and 2 out of the 5 docs she has seen said that they have heard a faint heart murmur? is this something to be totally freaked out about? They say chances are it will prob go away, but its just a waiting game...

my son had a heart murmur when he was born, i was worried that it could be something serious, we got an outpatient appointment for him at 6 weeks old and it was only faint, at his 8 week check up it had completely gone. i was told that one in 3 babies are born with a heart murmur, if it was serious im sure she would of had treatment or something, my brother alo has a heart murmur and he is 18, he plays football and goes the gym like any other teen x

My daughter had a heart murmur when she was born. Apparently lots of people have them and don't even know it. I don't think it's anything to worry about. My daughters closed up.

My son had this too until about 6mths old and then it just disappeared. I worried too that it could be something serious and the first time I was told about it at the first check up I just cried because I thought something serious was wrong with my baby! But after I researched the murmur my stress went away with it and so did the murmur.
I wouldn't freak out about it unless your daughter seems to have other issues too or if the doctor seems more concerned.
