Has anyone use ParaGard?

I do! It's great! I had one for five years after my daughter was born, then had it removed in order to conceive my son, and after he was born, I got another one, which I've had for about a year now, so that's a total of 6 years using Paragard.

While everyone's bound to have a different experience with it, I can confidently recommend it based on mine. Placement of it was not painful (just take a Tylenol beforehand to help with the cramping afterward), and was very quick and simple. Yes, it does make periods slightly heavier (more so at first than after you've had it a while) but to me, a box of Super tampons a month is a fair tradeoff for avoiding synthetic hormones. Yes, there can be cramping. This, again, has been pretty minimal for me, totally manageable without any type of medication (Tylenol, etc).

So yeah, totally recommend! It's been wonderful for me!

i just had my paraguard removed because it was so uncomfortable and gave me extreme pains and cramps. my doctor used his fingers and ripped the string from the birth control it took me two weeks to have it removed i had to get a ct scan to see how it was placed when i went to get it removed i had 3 huge needles poking me it was very painful the doctor had to dig inside my uterus to find it she wasnt haven luck so she had to take the tool that removes it to go diggin for it. i know tmi but i wouldnt recommened any1 to use it

I had it twice ... and didn't enjoy it either time. I had such heavy bleeding that I had to change a pad (while wearing a tampon) every other hour. It also gave me such painful cramps (which I had NEVER had before ... not even a little cramp). I just never did like the way it felt. Only ever did it because I can't use hormonal birth control. I've heard of people having an okay experience with it but I've only known painful and complicated. Good Luck!!

That is what I am currently using. I have not noticed any side effects so far, but it has only been a couple of months.
