My daughter is 6 months old and has started doing this kinda head jerking thing and shaking her head, the head jerking is more when shes tired but she also shakes her head kinda like shes saying no and this doesn't seem to bother her in fact I think she thinks its funny, but she does it randomly sometimes when i'm holding her and sometimes when shes sitting on the floor playing.
Anyone else experience this??

my bub went through this around 7 months old and i think its was just a trick he learnt and thought was fun to do, he grew out of it in a month or too :)

My son did this, too! I don't remember when it started - sometime after 6 months and before a year. It sounds like he did the same as your daughter - shaking "no" quite hard and then smirking or laughing. He thought it was funny, too. Now my son and my dad have this thing where they both shake their heads, lips flapping making funny sounds. They both think it's hilarious! (it is pretty funny to watch)
I was concerned at first that it was a balance issue, or something uncomfortable in his head, but no. It was just for fun and to see a different perspective.

hi! i ahev twin daughters and my youngest, started doing the head shaking just about a month ago.. she is 14 months, and i did get worried in the beginning. i thought she was shaking her head no also!... she would shake her head at random times, and she would laugh sometimes when she did it. she just recently started also banging her head on the couch when she sits on the it. i always think she is going to get dizzy and hurt. i wouldnt worry too much. i know many mothers saythat their kids do this at one point or another.. it is about the comtrol they have with themselves.. they are learning control.
