Hi I'm 19 and pregnant I have a job but it's doesn't really pay good to support me and my future child. I live in California and I was told about Medi-cal, I'm a part time worker so I'm not eligible for insurance at my job. I don't know if I should go with the medi-cal or just find something us to help me out I'm so confused and stressed I found a good hospital I just don't know if I'm going to have enough money to pay for everything if I don't find Health insurance can anyone help me ?:(

I would also look at disability money, I think it was called paid family leave. I was pregnant and living in CA and got 6 weeks of disability pay after I had the baby. It came as a debit card that you can use however you need to.

Definitly get on medical as soon as possible! They will cover all your appts and your delivery and post partum. Then you can get the baby on it too. I don't. Know if they have a WIC program where u live? Its for women, infants and babies. They help u out with certain foods, then after u deliver, if u need formula , they supply that too. Its worth it just for the formula, because that stuff is crazy expensive! Just follow that link to the website that lady gave you and good luck! U have nothing to lose by trying, and most likly u will get it. Good luck and congrats on ur new baby!!!

Oh and the other thing is that if your parents happen to have health insurance you are still able to be covered under their plan and the whole pregnancy/birth would also be covered!

Yes, you can get mediCAL in CA. I also live in CA and have known a ton of people who have done the same thing. I wouldn't recommend even trying to pay for everything on your own. With a part time job there is NO way you would be able to, you're talking tens of thousands of dollars potentially. Here is the link to the medical website. It gives a phone number you can call. Don't stress about this portion, you'll be fine and you have plenty of other things to stress about! ;)
