Hello everyone I hope that all is well :-) I have a question, I filed child support over three years ago on my son father and we will finally have our day in court next week but I would like to know since this is a Order to Show Cause case what kinds of questions should I be asking the judge??

HI there Candi, i have a 5 yr old son and i served his dad a few yrs ago we had our day and because he refuses to work because he doesnt wanna have to give me anything the judge imputed his income and i got a huge 195.00 a mth that must be paid through maintenance, and then they penalize u for everything , i do know that if they dont pay the said amount they can take away his license and or garnish his wages. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

With child support cases each are unique. After it is determined how much child support is being paid out, find out how it's been delivered to you. I know in Canada it is done through maintenance and that isn't the best agency, many a times payments are delayed or not even there depending on the contributors financial situation. Plus with having a middle man deliver the payment they always take their cut too.

Just remember to ask for all the details including what happens if your ex cannot pay.

Good luck
