help!! i have cough and colds, im 3months pregnant, what shall i do????

Don't panic first of all. If it just the usual type of cold you get, the most important thing is to rest and relax. Your body is already working hard to grow a beautiful healthy baby, so being sick just exerts more energy to heal you. Don't over do it, tax yourself, or do more than you feel that you can- even if it makes you feel wimpy or like a primadonna for a few days. Secondly, take lots of vitamin C. It is great for boosting your immune system and what your body doesn't use it pees out. There is no such thing as too much vitamin C. Also, chamomile tea is great for soothing a sore throat or calming any tension you may have in your body/mind. Create a quiet restful space in your living room or bedroom and listen to soft music or watch an uplifting movie or comedy or read a good book in a hot bath. Or take a hot shower with lavender essential oil if you don't have a tub. Then just pamper yourself and sleep. Make sure you eat well. Taking care of yourself will not only feel wonderful, but it will help your body heal well. Most over-the-counter and prescription drugs are only designed to treat the symptoms of colds/coughs but don't actually cure them. When your symptoms are gone you may feel "better" and try to "get more done". This is just prolonging the time that your body is fighting germs, and not allowing for full recovery. Talk to a local birthing center or look online for other herbs that are safe to consume during pregnancy. Also, eat well- lots of fluids, fruits and veggies, whole foods as much as possible because there is more energy available to your system compared to processed foods.

there are all kinds that you can take while pregnant. the trick is finding out which ones. all you have to do is ask your dr about it. i got a really bad fever when i was pregnant with my first and i took neocitran. some drs say it's ok while others say different. just ask yours.
