Help toddler refuses to nap anymore and is very cranky with out one

My daughter is 21 months and refuses to nap bout half the time any more especialy if she falls asleep in the car even for just a couple minutes she's not ready to be done napping as she gets very crank in the afternoon if she doesn't nap and is waking up at 7-730 which is very early for her she usualy sleeps until 8:30-9 any advice i really need her to nap

What I have found works is to tell them it's quite time and they have to stay in bed for 1 hour. Let them read. set the timer and if the get up or make noise, start it over. It can be hard the first few days, but eventually they will be asleep within a few minutes.

thanks for your advice lady's i have continuesd to stick with my routine last night she finaly went to bed and slept all night until a little after 8am which is great but i'm not getting to excited just yet incase that was just a fluke but i am hopeing that it's just a phase and that she will be back on her normal schedule soon also hopeing she naps today wish me luck lol

If not, try researching all the self soothing methods. Sometimes a little push can induce the help you are looking for :) but they do have phases so it's a toss up lol

I agree with Jennifer - my son, who is an excellant sleeper, goes through stages where he stops napping or sleeping times change. Just continue to stay consistant with your routine, your little girl should settle back down.

Tell her it is quiet time and she has to lay there quietly. About that same age we had to stop calling them naps with my oldest and call them rests. Even now he wont take a nap but he sure will rest and he is 4.5 years.
