Leap Frog. Get the movies and watch them with your children - they are great and they've really been wonderful for my kids (my 3 year-old can read simple books with 3 letter words and my 2 year-old knows all the sounds of the letters. My 3 year-old also knows simple math and my 2 year-old is starting to recognize the numbers when she sees them written down).

I use this site called Starfalls.com> This site is a free site that teaches your young child about memorization, numbers, letters and much much more. There is also a game called Boggle Jr. I use these two systems to teach my son how to read and memorize things..... My son is also five yrs old and just entered into kindergarden. My son hates to sit still and learn..... But using these two ideas he is having a blast learning.
