no i was asleep during my c section and as soon as i woke up i asked if i had a baby, then i didnt see her for a few hours and i spent that time drifting in and out of sleep and crying to my boyfriend and family that i want to see my baby! it became difficult for me to bond with her and this may sound silly but i kept worrying that maybe they had given me the wrong baby as she didnt look like me!!!! it was sad and crazy but i would do it all again, im now completly in love with my daughter and will be forever xx

yes. my husband got to hold her first and take pictures while they were stitching me up and when they got far enough along, they brought her to me to hold for a little bit, but i really got to hold her and bond with her when i went to recovery. I can still remember the smiles on both my husband's and her faces that night....

They laid him on my chest right after. So i got to hold him right away. Then his dad and him went to the nursery and met me in recovery!

They showed me his face, but I didn't get to see him again until recovery. They were asking me if I wanted to hold him and I just did NOT want to. How was I supposed to hold him with my stomach cut open? IT was awful. I hate my doctor, adn I hate that I had a c-section. They woudln't even let hubby have a camera! I didn't get to bond with him becaues of that stupid c-section.

I didn't get to hold my son for 3 days after my section. That was the hardest thing ever. I just had to sit there in the NICU and look at him! Also, they didn't feed him for the first 3 days.

I did! Her dad gave her to me and he and I both held her while they were stiching me up.

Nope! I didn't see my daughter until an hour after she was born and I was out of recovery. Which I think babies and their mom's need to bond as soon as they are born so its not right.

I didn't get too. They let me kiss him. He went to the nursery and I had to go to recovery. So i was in there for an hour. When they took me back into my room, I wasn't allowed to sit up until the feeling came back into my feet. I had him lay on my chest, but it wasn't the same as holding him. I didn't have the feeling back in my feet yet, but I was so ready to sit up and hold him. So it took awhile before i really got to hold him.

I had the choice of whether i wanted to hold my daughter straight away. And i was told that they never separated mother and baby unless they had too. So luckily she was by my side the whole time. They even asked if i wanted the screen lowered when they were about to pull her out so i could see her coming into the world. Then they checked her over (5lbs 1 oz), i didn't her hold straight away as i was shaking very badly but that was my choice, but my partner did and he sat right next to me the whole time. The whole time i was in hospital with my daughter she was never apart from me, you took your baby everywhere with you. Now she is 18 months old, and i'm 5 months pregnant with our second baby and i hope to have a natural birth! Scared though

I also had a cesarean with my son 23 months ago. I didn't get to hold him because my husband was too caught up in his first "daddy moment". He was generous enough (ha!) to let me get TWO little PEEKS at our boy though. The doctors let him hold him almost the entire time it took to stich me up. I slept more or less the entire day so I didn't really hold him until the following day after the anesthesia had completely worn off.

I got to hold my son as soon as he'd been wrapped up. We had a few photos taken while I was being stitched up. He was weighed etc while I was in recovery. As soon as I woke up my partner (now ex) was there and he went outside and got our son, who was getting cuddles from his grandparents and aunty.

My first son I saw as he was being pulled out of stomach, they then took him over and cleaned and weighed him and then I got a quick cuddle and kiss and a few photos and then my hubby went to the nursery with him. I didn't see him then for almost 2 hours, was very difficult. My second son I saw as he was born, and then he stayed in the Theatre with my hubby and I and all threw recovery. I didn't hold him in the theatre but once we were in recovery I held him the entire time. I was a lot happier and calmer with that. I had the same OB and had them at the same hospital but they changed their policy in the 2 years between them, thank god :)

I had to wait at least 2 hours or more before I got to hold my baby boy. I was in my room for quite some time before they brought him in. I didn't even get to see him except for the picture on my boyfriends phone.

I was able to touch my daughter right after she was born. My dad was in there with me for my emergency c section and he was able to hold her. I had her close enough to me that i was able to touch and kiss her but I wasn't able to hold her by myself until I was on the way back to my room thought she was never out of my sight once she was born.

no mama, i was not allowed to hold my son after he was born, i had a c section as well. I got to kiss him and then the doctors let my husband carry him to nursary room I believe it is for his bath and for them to do whatever it is that doctors do make sure that baby's healthy. I couldn't hold him until the following night because my hormones were so bad and because i had that RHn negative shot and group b strep they had to keep an eye on him as well.

Sadly No. but i guess that's cause i was all drugged up, But they did peek her over the sheet that was blocking me from seeing n e thing. I got to hear her cry. :) Unfortunately My recovery took about 5 hours, and i don't remember too much. I was really sick due to the Meds they used. But My husband got to hold her in the nursery, I remember my Midwife comming in at one point and latching the baby to my breast so she could eat, but i was way whacked out. so i really didn't hold her. :( But i guess it was for the better. I got to hold her once i was back in the room and awake enough to hold her with out worry of dropping her. :)
The hospital was on lock down do to a gastral (gastric)infection that was going around, so it was pretty much me and my baby for the next 5 days.(the only visitor i was allowed was my husband) so my daughter and I got a lot of bonding time in there. :)

I did not get to hold my son till days after he was born, because when I had my c-section he flipped head up right before the doctor grabbed him and swallowed marconium on the way out. So no, I did not.

I ended up having an emergency -C section. I got to give him a kiss on the head then he went to recovery, Then When I got there we had said that we wanted to do latching/bonding ASAP and the nurse sat at the computer for HOURS before we could even hold him :( he looked at us from his little bed and we couldn't even hold him and then he fell asleep and she didn't want us to wake him.... :( so I probably didn't hold him to practically the next day...

When I had my son 15 months ago, they took him out weighed him and everything and then laid him on my chest so that I can see him while they were stitching me back up. After they had stitched me up and I was ready to go, they gave the baby to my husband and they both waited for me in my room. It was like 20 mins later when I actually was able to be alone with my boys and do the mommy thing. :) I thought it was strange...they never took my son to the nursery at all he was with us the whole time.

With my first cesarean I did not get to hold her. I saw her for a minute and got to kiss her on the head, but they wisked her off and I didn't see her for almost 2 hours. With my second, I made it clear that I was going to have more time with her, and while I didn't actually hold her, my husband held her next to me and I got to talk to her and touch her for about 15 minutes before they had him leave with her to stitch me up.

i got to see my son about 6 hours after i came out from an emergency c section, but didnt get to hold him until about 2 weeks after , since he was always in a humid crib, then he got transferred to another hospital, while i had to stay in the other hospital because of the lack of beds

i got a look when my son was bonr via e.c.s just over the drape thing, then he had to have oxygen, and put in an incubator (strangulation from cord being around his neck, but they wheeled him over beside me so i could touch him through the wee hand hole. i got to have my first cuddle 2 hours later :)

I did not get to hold my son until about half an hour to an hour after my c section because i was put in recovery and then there was a problem at the hospital that alot of ppl had to attend to so i think i was forgotten about and obviously i couldnt move because of the epidural soo i wasnt very happy :(

No didn't get to hold my son after c-section, he was born 5 weeks early and was a healthy 6lbs 7 ozs, the nurse held him away from me about 5 ft and then I didn't get to see him until over 24 hours later very distressing for me, he was fine. but took a while to bond fully with him I feel. Now 36 weeks pregnant and no matter what way this baby comes I will be holding him/her asap after he/she born. not going through that again.

Then he was taken back to do his vitals and measurements, while I got stitched up and taken to recovery. I was in there for about an hour before they brought me back to the room and then I got hold him and nurse him.
