it can be ligament pain from the growing uterus. I would get it checked out just to be on the safe side.

I remember that feeling, like a pinching, stretching sensation...My doc told me it was just the baby getting bigger and my skin and uterus stretching. It used to be bad for a couple days (almost like a growing pain) and then go away for a while. Probably what you are experiencing but if you are very concerned definitely give your doctor a call.

Hi Emma! I am a first time mom and gave birth to a healthy baby boy in february. Between 4-5 months I got the WORST pain in my belly button. It was so bad I called the doctor. She said it was just my belly button stretching, and they were right. The pain was off and on for about 2.5 weeks, but all was well, nothing abnormal on the ultrasound, or in the long run. I think it's a fairly normal thing, but ALWAYS ask your doc, just to be sure.
God bless,
Darielle

I think so. I was only 105lbs before my son (who's birthday is also in August) was born. He was just so compacted in there which was probably the reason for the pain. I felt like I would explode before my due date came.

Hi,
During my pregnancy I had the same feeling. The doctor also said it was normal. It hurts more with women who are skinny. There is less skin but the baby is the same :-). Allthough I can imagine if you're not skiny around the waist it can hurt pretty bad to. It goes away when your belly button pops out.

hi, I am 9 months with my first and Ican remember feeling that tugging sensation as well around five months. The doctor saidit was normal, just your skin being stretched and your belly button popping out.

In the later stages of pregnancy (third trimester) I found that you can feel a "pulled" sensation which can be alleviated by keeping the skin hydrated (inside & out - so drink water & use natural oils for moisturisation). Do you have your belly pierced? Any pain should always be investigated, it could also be muscular?

Hey mate. My first little on was born 9 months ago and am about 4 months into my second pregnancy. I had the same pains in my skin because it was stretching further than it ever had before, and same as you primarily round my belly button. All totally normal (according to my doctor) but as Chelsea said, if it is really worrying you, a trip to the doctors for your own piece of mind is probably worth it.
I also got really itchy skin on my belly (didn't have a rash at all) and the nurse said that it also very common as well. Whatever it was that causes stretch marks (I can't remember what it is) can cause you to itch as well! Lucky my boy is so cute or I might remember all that as being a bad thing!

I'm a first time Mum as well and I'm no expert but any pain isn't good - If it's only a 'weird feeling' rather then a pain then it's probably nothing to worry about but if you still experience the feeling then tell the doctor or nurse the next time u see them (or see one if ur worried).
