Nick had a temp of 100.6 this evening. i took his temp after he spit-up(vomited...quite a bit) for the 2nd time in a row today. i havent changed formulas so i dont think he is spitting up because of that. should i be worried? and should i maybe give him a bit of infant tylenol? or just check his temp a bit later to see if it is getting any better?

he is doing alot better. i gave him a bath and he slept for sometime. when he woke back up later his temp was back down and it hasnt spiked up again. thank you all for all your help!!

Her babe is 2 weeks old according to her profile I would definately call your ped's hotline or your insurance nurse.

My ped, said if the baby is 10mths or older and the temp is more then 100 then alternate between motrin and tylenol every two hours...i did it with my daughter and it seemed to keep her temp down and she was back to her old self the next day.

Our ped says anything 100.6 or over in the armpit needs to be called on.

How old is he? And where did you take his temp (armpit, rectally)? Did he recently have shots? If he's older than 3 months and has had shots recently it's probably a reaction to that and a little Tylenol should help. I think the rule is if they're under 3 months and have a temp of 100.4 or higher rectally they need to see a doc. Teething can also cause them to run a temperature. Depending on how old he is, I would give him a cool bath and some Tylenol and see if that helps. But you can always call your doc just to be sure.
