Ignore her! Really that is the best thing. As she gets older and if she still does it just walk away and tell her you are leaving. She will stop...my son did.

I agree with the other two moms on this one. Ignoring her is probably your best bet. I know it's not generally suggested that you punish children "later" or after they've had time to forget the misdeed they did, but I've always thought kids have a much better memory then what give them credit for, and if you were to, say, not give your daughter dessert after supper in the evening and explain it's because of the temper tantrum she through at the store that afternoon...I think she'd understand what your were talking about ;)

Ignore her! As hard as it is, especially in public, you have to ignore it. If you are at Wal-Mart, leave your cart where it is and walk out with her and leave. Don't yell or threaten her...just pick her up and walk out. Most of the time tantrums are just a child's way to get your attention and to get what they want...Next time you go to the store, tell her she has to stay at home until she can learn to be good in the store. It is more of a pain to you, but it will get the point across to her. If you are at home, just step over her and leave the room. When she realizes that she is not getting a rise out of you she will stop and come and find you. Don't talk about the tantrum, go keep going about your business like nothing happened. As time progresses the tantrums will get shorter and shorter till they stop all together.

You have to ignore her! As hard as it sounds that is the best thing you can do. She is throwing a fit because she wants something and she knows how to get on your nerves or get your attention. If you ignore it then she will have no reason to doit anymore.

Just protect her from hurting herself and let her do her thing.
