How do i get my almost 2 year old to stop drinking milk from his bottle, But he will drink his juice and water from a sippy cup? If i give him milk in a sippy cup he will scream bloody murder!!!

Removed the bottles from the cupboards and hide them, if he doesn't have a bottle around he then will realize that its a sippy cup or nothing at all....My daughter is 3 and sometime she will only drink flavored milk, which works great because it gets her to drink the milk and she thinks she is getting a treat.

flavor the milk. Slowly add less and less flavoring until its plain milk. I breastfed, but my son had the same problem.

hear hear Nicole! Remember you are the adult and you can't let him make the decisions.

Let him cry. If he really wants the milk he'll drink from the sippy cup. Don't let him be the boss. By giving in to him you'll just be creating a monster.

i went through this with my daughter...she'd drink milk fine from a cup at daycare but only wanted it in a bottle at home...i put a drop of chocolate in there and that's how she drinks it

That is so weird now that you mention that..I give him chocolate milk in the sippy cup and he will drink it if its just plain milk then its a no go lol...

this might sound harsh but if he really wanted the milk he would drink it from the cup...He is testing you and if it was my son I would persist until he drinks it! You have many more of these battles to come!

Ohhh yes, Last nite i warmed up his milk and put it in his sippy cup, and he was screaming and he kept throwing the sippy cup aroundthe house and wouldnt drink out of it..He did that for about an hour, and i got sick of him doing that so i put it back in the bottle and the minute he got the bottle he drank it all :S

My doc recommended that i gave her nothing but milk in her sippie cup. Eventually he will take the sippie insteade of nothing.

Of course if he becomes constipated either delute the the milk with water half and half. Or use other constipation remedies :)

I hope this helped, it did with my daughter :)

i have been told that when they are this old they dont need to drink bottles of milk as long as they have milk with there cereal and eat things like cheese and  yoghurts as they would be getting the calcium that they need from eating them. i have done this with my 2 and 3 year old as they eat a lot of cheese and other food with a high calcium amount. hope this will help you.

you could maybe try to put some juice in his milk and see if he will take that from his sippy cup and then gradually add less juice to the milk until he is drinking just the milk from the cup
