Invite other kids over that are his age that he knows from church or pre-school. Look for special summer programs at the local movie theater.

we go to the batting cages , we have softball girls so that is one of their fave places. They are in sports so summer is busy as is every season, with sports. There are always places you can sign him up for say like a junior karate class or tumbling or whatever he's interested in. We go to the dollar show, movie price is only $1 and 50 cents some nights. Swimming - lake, pool, beach or just set up a kiddie pool and sprinkler at home. arts and crafts are great as well. have fun!

I created an arts and crafts section in my house, i have paints, papers, colors, almost everything that a 5-year old would like and he loves it, he stays busy for hours just doing stuff.
