My daughter is showing the signs of potty training readiness but I am clueless as to how to start...how did you start your child with potty training?? What I mean is...how did you start on your very first day of training?

just let her run around in a nighty or long tshirt, and keep getting her to sit on the potty, she will soon learn thats where she has to go for a wee, but if she misses just say ohh never mind maybe next time, she will so pick it up. x

We started potty training my daughter about a week ago, and we are down to 1-2 accidents a day. (none in public yet!!) We just jumped into it. Explain undies are for big girls and we can't dirty them. We put my daughter on the potty usually once an hour unless she doesn't go when we put her on, then we give her 15 - 30 mins and try again. Lots of praise, and I found putting my hand to my ear and tring to "hear" her pee really encouraged her. It sounds goofy but it really did work for us.
We always go pee beofre we go out of the house.

You really have to stick with it. I was so tempted to put her in a diaper through the night or when we went out but I am really glad we didn't.

Oh Gosh do I know what your feeling! my daughter is completely potty trained now, but I felt exactly the same!! People would tell me oh just put them on the potty in the morning then you will see when they need to go in the day and just put them on.... I felt so lost! one day enough was enough so i put my little girl in underwear (she literally had NO idea about the toilet) and she had a million accidents in two days, I was pretty much taking her to the potty every half an hour and nothing would happen, but you HAVE to stick to it, and eventually you will fluke it haha, once they do there first wee on the toilet they know, so you just have to be persistant until they work out for themselves "oh i need to wee." when my daughter did her first number two she always went to the toilet for them :) No joke within 1 week she was completely toilet trained, even through the night. Hope this helps because I remember what you feel like :)
