If you find a way let me know!!! I have 2 boys...8 and 3. I thought having them 5 years apart would help with fighting!! Boy was I wrong!! I have two younger brothers who are almost 2 years apart and they did the same thing...still do and they are now 19 and 21. My husband always says its a boy thing, he is one of 4 kids 3 which were boys and he says they did the same thing too!! Right when I think I have the older one calmed and not to hit for a while the little one starts in on him!! Good luck and I will follow this as well looking for advice too!!

This reminds me of my house except it is an 8yr old and 6yr old GIRLS and a 2 month old son. I have done the time-out thing so much that at one point my 8yr old thought about the consequence of taking the time out and felt it was worth being able to hit her sister. I have finally started making them write sentences " I will not hit my sister...." She hates to write the sentences, so far ,so has refrained from hitting her lately. Soon though I feel that writing sentences will be worth it and will have to think of something new again. Until then I hope this was a good idea that is worth trying.
