Hey mommies!
My babygirl is now 5 weeks and sleeps almost every night through the night (7hrs). When do you think its ok to put a baby down to sleep? And how? Do you lay the baby in the crib and let it cry until it goes to sleep by itself?

think that 5 weeks is a little young to be able to self soothe. also she is kind of young to understand the message you are trying to get and would probably cry every night for a long time. I think maybe wait until she is at least 3-4 months old and then try having a bedtime routine. Do nit every night and then say goodnight and put her in her crib and let her cry. Also wil help if she has a comfort object, like a pacifier or a blanket or something to soothe herself with. If you aren't comfortable letting her cry it out there are many different sleep training methods that don't use that. You can look them up in goodle. just search sleep training

My daughter is 10 months old and goes to bed around 8. When she was smaller she went around 7. We used to have to rock or "bounce and sway" her to sleep, but when she was about 3.5/4 months old she up and decided she just wanted to be laid in her bed. So, now we just put her in her bed with her paci, bear, and blanket and she passes out! Every once in a while, she has a hard time falling asleep, usually when she's over tired, so we just stay patient. We will let her cry for a few minutes, and if she doesn't calm down we will pick her up, hug her, and put her back in her crib. It kinda says "it's ok, I'm still here..." Usually when she's having a tough time singing twinkle twinkle and patting her back will help! As she starts to drift off I sing quieter and pat softer so it's easier to walk away! =) I hope this helps! Your sweet baby girl is only 5 weeks, enjoy the cuddling as long as she will let you! They grow up fast, girl! =)
