My son has been sick 4 or 5 times this winter and I want to clean and sanitize everything, but how do I do that with his wooden toys and puzzles?

I use Lysol & Clorox wipes and spray. You can also use watered down vinegar.

my father-in-law works with a lot of wood. he suggested that you take a spray bottle with mild bleach and spray it on and immediately wipe it off and it will sanitize it. do not soak the wood toy in anything cuz it will ruin the toy and don't leave the bleach on too long or it will discolor the toy. as for any other toy that is not wood soak 1-2 minutes in a little bleach (just a little) and some hot water, then take them out and either dry them or let them air dry and that will sanitize all other toys. with your bleach to water ratio 1 table spoon bleach to 2 cups hot water. hope it helps and try to do the sanitizing at least once a week. or if he tends to put a specific toy in his mouth everyday at night when he is in bed give it a clean and that should help keep him from getting sick as often

wood, unless its painted or laqured has its own anti microbial properties so just washing them in hot water is enough.

I am sure that if you just take a Lysol wipe you can just wipe them down. Wood is a hard thing to clean because it is so porous. I try and stay away from wood toys unless they are sealed. I use Lysol wipes on everything though and it is pretty gentle!!
