How early did you get a positive pregnancy test? Did you have to wait till day of missed period?

HELP LADIES!! a week before my pd i had cramps and spotting that lasted a few hours the next day i took a test it was neg.( Also to early to test). Its now two days later.and i have nausia here and there cramps sensetive smells and food cravings my lower abdomen is swolled and more trips to the RR. Am i pregnant? :) and its 4 days till i MIGHT start my pd can i test with a clear blue??

i was 5 days late. I had a feeling though because i was chartting. I ovulated around the 15th day of my cycle so i knew i would be having roughly a 29 day cycle. well i was 5 days late took a test and it came back possitive. but it really all depends as the HGC lvl may take time to rise or youll get lucky and it will be high within the first week.

I need an opinion. Ok so my bf and I have been having unprotected sex for the past couple of days and yes I was ovulating throughout some of those days but, we would use the pullout method but I honestly think that doesn't not, we just do it to be "safe" so we could say we didn't do it on purpose. Anyway...my period is due on the 26 of this month but I'm eager to find out if I'm pregnant or not. My boobs slightly did get bigger and my bf says they feel heavier, I've been sleeping a ton! And in the morning I feel very hungry and eat right away! My lower back has been aching and I got a site throat literally out of nowhere and I've been having a runny nose! Should I wait to test after my missed period? Or should I test now? By the way, I am super irregular my period is never on time and I've been having abnominal pain.

I got my first positive 12 days past ovulation or 4 days before my next period was due. I used sticks I bought in bulk from Amazon, and after I got my positive, I went out and bought a brand name from the store just to double-check.

i didnt ffind out till i was six and ahalf months along with my child then i allmost  miss carried and had to be hhospitalized  and put on bed rest the rest of the time but ijust think i was the odd one out idk havent met to many ppl that have my condition really

I thought I was pregnant about 4 days before my period was due. The test said no. The day I was supposed to get my period, the test said no. 1 week late the test finally said yes. So the doctors said he must be small. I had no morning sickness and completely normal pregnancy. He was 9 lbs 8 oz at birth!

I tested "pregnant" on the Clear Blue digital pregnancy test 4 days before my missed period this pregnancy... so on day 24 of my cycle.

The baby I am currently pregnant with was conceived on Christmas eve and I had a positive test (from a doctor) on Jan 5th. However, my period had been due on the 1st of January, so I had missed a period.

Hey, I am 26 years old and have a 4 year old and 2 year old girls and think I might be pregnant but how many of you out there knew before your period was due that you were pregnant???
I am soo fustrated...... I had a miscarriage before my last child and it was twins and it just tore me up so a new pregnancy is a horrible memory that I have to go through early stage in fear all over again...... any answers would be much appreciated!

iam so sorry to hear that :( i took the first response test and i did it first thing in the morning and it was postitive i went to my doc and i was 5 weeks prego! did even get to the "my period is late" point! i know something was not right when i went to eat one of my fav foods and it made me sick! i hope this helps :)

Thanks everyone for your support and helpful comments... I have 3 positive test since yesterday evening and they have gotten a bit darker since yesterday, so I guess that is a good sign!!! I saw a faint positive yesterday evening and wasn't sure,but I might have miscalculated how long my period could be because I am irregular and sometimes they come as early as 28 or so and sometimes as late as 34 days since my last period and today is day 32 so I guess I could have ovulated later,but I think I still am pregnant which is good!! Thanks to all of you very kind mommies out there for helping me figure out what is normal!

i did with my son i believe and there are test out there like the ept that you can take like up to 5 days and it should be able to give you an accurate result

well when i had my last son, who came in oct. of 2008 i was due for a period on the 7th of feb, and like always i had my awful cramps leading up to it.. however normally when the cramps were awfukl the spotting would come... but after the second day opf cramps nothing, so i took a test 2 days before my period was due, and i got a faint positive result, i thought it was wrong.. but it wasn't.. so hope that helps, and good luck.

I knew i was pregnant both times before missing my period. The first I was on my honeymoon and then busy moving house so tested at 4 weeks and was pregnant. But I lost the baby at 11 weeks. I then had a cyst that gave me confusing pregnancy symptoms. We tried again two months later. I suddenly felt really really thirsty and knew straight away I was pregnant because it was so odd. I took a test a few days later because I was too scared to do it sooner and it was positive. That must have only been the 3 week point (one week after conception) I stressed all the way through the entire pregnancy to the point i made myself sick so I understand. Try to relax and let what happens happen :)

I was about 3 or 4 weeks along when I took my pregnancy test. Im in the navy and I was out on the boat when I thought I might be and there was no way for me to take a test and find out. I took 5 tests as soon as I got home and they all said I was preggy. I just had the feeling that I was and it turns out that I was. I'm so sorry for your loss I couldn't even imagine how hard it must have been to get through. Like the other moms have said, just listen to your body and most times your instinct will be right.

I took a test 5 days before my missed period, most name brand tests now have that option. But my body told me I was pregnant about 2 weeks into it. If you think you are, you probibly are. Its mothers intuition.

No, you are not at increased risk of a miscarriage. What is your body telling you? I knew I was pregnant with our second child upon listening to my body- sounds so lame, I know.....We were doing the family planning, and I lost count of which week we should have used a condom, and yeah, we were pregnant! I got pregnant 2 or 3 weeks before I was to start my next cycle, and I had morning sickness the next day. The funny thing is......My husband was in denial for about a month!!!!!!

Can i just also add that like you i have had miscarriages at early and late stages. The only thing about knowing is that maybe you can also take positive action about taking folic acid taking it a little bit easier.

However with early test more people have miscarriages.................what i mean by this is before when tests were not able to work this early people often had a miscarriage but often did not realise putting it down to a late and heavier period than normal.

With my first i was 6 weeks but i knew without a test i had all the symptoms! With my son it was really early (i was about 5 weeks!) i had not had a period for about 6 months though and my husband said,

"I dreamt you were pregnany last night!" something just clicked and we brought a test. Of course it was positive so i got really worried that i was 6 months pregnant and had not realised! The doctor sent me for a scan the following week and they laughed and said i was 6 weeks and not 6 months! Which was a relief!

#1- 10 days past ovulation

#2- 5 days before period was due

I would say that a pregnancy that is not detected until after af is due has the potential to be just as viable as one that is detected earlier.

i found out i was pregnant at 2 wks. i was due 4 my period and they were always like clock work so the day i didnt get it i did the test and it was positive.

So sorry for your loss. I know that has to be really hard. When I found out I was pg, it was 4 days before I was suppose to get my period. Most of my friends who have also had babies and/or are pregnant tested early too. It's really hard to say though because everyone is different. Oh the other hand a good friend of mind missed her period for 2 of her kids...took multiple test that were neg. Couple week later ended up going to the dr to find out she was pg.

Just relax...everything will be ok! I'm sure you hate hearing that!!! Hoped this helped:)

im really sorry for your loss . ive got two kids and currently trying for another i also want to do a test but think it may be to early to do it and dont want the dissapointment of it saying no just because ive done it to early so im just going to wait i have some signs but think is it because i want to be pregnant?

I knew I was pregnant about 7 days before my period was due. I had alot of symptoms (sore breasts, needing to pee alot, mood swings etc), so I took an early detection pregnancy test the following day. Sure enough I was pregnant, so I took 2 more test on consecutive days following and they came back positive aswell. Even though my period wasnt due for another 6-8 days, I still knew I was pregnant and didnt have to wait to miss my period, which was good for me as I hate waiting. I dont think waiting till your next period will increase your chances of miscarriage. Hope this helps. Good luck oxo.

I knew with my last two (I have 3 and am due next week with our 4th) before my period was late. I took the test and with them both it came out positive even with being only 3 weeks along. Actually this last one I knew the week before the test. Our youngest was 14 months and hadn't been BF for quite some time by then. I had gone over to see my cousin's new little one and as soon as the baby started to cry I leaked a little bit. I tried convincing myself it was all in my head and just my desire to have another one but broke down the next week and went with my sister to get a test.
So trust yourself mostly on this one. Sometimes false negatives do happen to. With my first and second home pregnancy tests never worked. My doctors had to confirm them with blood work. They thought I was crazy but no one knows your body and what your feeling better than yourself. I'm a weird case though, even my doctor said so after I had gone through so much to confirm my first two and then it was showing up easily with the last ones. =)
In between my oldest two and my youngest two though I did have a miscarriage. It is a horrible experience and absolutely dreadful to think about, especially if you are pregnant again and start reliving everything in your mind about what could go wrong.
If you think you are though and are worried take it easy until you find out for sure. With kids this is not easy I know but try your hardest to keep yourself relaxed (added stress is not good) and don't over extend yourself. If you get tired or are getting sore, sit down and rest for awhile. Keep up a healthy diet too. Not everything need be done at once. The house may not be as clean as usual but if you are pregnant a healthy baby is more important! Talk to your hubby/partner to about your fears and schedule a doctor's appointment. If your doctor is someone you trust and is good to you then if the test does come out negative but he/she has listened to you they will put your mind at ease. They will let you know what you can do to help minimize the possibility of a miscarriage (though there is no certain way to make sure they never happen) and tell you when you come back again to retest if your period doesn't show up when it should.

I knew I was pregnant with my first i just sensed it my periods weren't regular because of depo one month i'd get it and the next i wouldn't.  So i went by what my body felt and I was right.  I took 3 tests and sure enough they were positive.  I don't think waiting til you missed period increases your risk miscarriage.

I think i knew 3 days before i took the test... and my husband noticed something different about me and told me he thought i was pregnant a week before i took a test. Just try to not think about it untill you can take a test and remeber you have two preciouse children now, who love you and when the time is right you'll be blessed with more. I think about when a miscarrage happens, it's gods way of telling me that the baby wouldn't have turned out happy and healthy and was sparing me so much more pain later... and that it doesn't mean that you won't get kids in the future.. that maybe that wasn't the right time. I would try not to think of it in a totally bad way, you never know why things happen the way they do and for what reason, so i guess just a little advice... stay happy and stressfree, enjoy life with the ones you love and when the time is right it will happen. I hope this helped. One more thing... I've heard of woman having their periods 3 months in to being pregnant and not even thinking their pregnant, i've heard in some woman it just happens but the only way to be sure is to take the test it will tell you your hormone level for telling you if you are or arn't... if your having a period and it comes out positive it might mean nothing... just take care of your self and see a doctor.. and they can tell you why woman's bodies do that, and where you would be at with the whole thing. * Hoping for good things for you. : )

Sorry for your loss. thre are pregnancy tests that are marked as early detection ones that can be accurate until 9 days past ovulation.
