I had my son at age 22 and I'm wondering how long I should wait before having another. How long did you wait between each child?

I had my Daughter Nov 2006 And my son was born Mar 2008 a mear 14 month gap, it was hard for the first 6 months, but now they keep each other entertained, share there toys and sweeties with out having to be asked. they are a team ( not always a good thing when they gang up on me ...LOL ) if you can take the madness i think a small gap is great. But if you go this route be prepared for some feelings of o my god what have i done but only in the begining.

My oldest just turned 6 in may and my youngest will be 3 in september. I wanted them a little closer together but had miscarriage. We are currently thinking about #3 and hopefully this time we'll have a girl if not oh well! That means another boy:)

My daughter will be 2 in September, and everyone keeps asking me when we're going to have another one. Blah, I hate those questions. I personally want to wait until my daughter is out of diapers before I worry about another one. We really can't afford another one at the moment. But If one should happen to surprise us, that would be fine too. My husband asked for a long time when we were going to have another one, but I think he understands I'm just not ready. (I had a traumatic birthing expirience)

Well i had my daughter on July 11th 2008 at 12:41am! And two minutes later i had my son! Lol...Yes i have twins! I think to have children close in age is a blessing. They both are different lil people but i can tell they will have a very close relationship (even if they do whack eachother in the face!) It also depends on yourself if you feel ur ready and if your body is ready!! Goodluck with it all!!!

Well....i have only one child right now and he is almost 8 months old...and we have decided to try for another when our son is about 18 months old, that would make them about 2-2 1/2 years apart, my sister and i are 2 years and 2 weeks apart and we are the best of friends, most of the time but we still have our fights like most siblings.....but i want to have at least one more child, maybe two more but i guess we will wait and see....i would just make sure that you can handle them, money wise and mentally, they say that going from one child to two children is hard, but after two it doesn't really make much differance......

My fiance and I have two boys together. Our first son is 2, and our second is almost 10 months. So they are about 16-17 months apart. I've always wanted mine close. They always have someone to play with. My fiance actually just got custody of his 3 year old daughter ( i call her my daughter, too, i love her like shes my own) so her and our first son are actually closer in age than the boys! It requires a lot of patience, especially when they are all in cranky moods, or are all demanding different things at the same time! But overall its worth it, they are play mates, we are getting the hardest stages out of the way basically at the same time..I love having them so close in age..They all kinda help eachother out in a way too. the older one basically is teaching our middle one how to talk, the baby is already trying to talk because he sees the older ones doing it. Our first son seemed kinda lonely before our second son came along, and before my fiances daughter came to live with us. They are all very happy kids. It all depends on if you are ready!!

i had my first child at the age of 19 and i waited a little over 3 years before i got pregnant with my second child so they are 4 years and 1 month apart

I do agree with carrie - I am 6 years younger than my closest sister and have a hard time relating to my sisters because of the age difference. That being said have kids close together is hard on mind and body.

I got pregnant with my daughter at 17 and had her when I was 18. Then I got pregnant with my son at 20 and had him when I was 21. I know I was young when I had my first child but when it came to decide if I wanted another one or not I decided yes cause I already had one. As to how long to wait in between my decision was at my age right now I am 26, my sister is 18, and my brother is 11. Thats alot of years in between us and none of us are close at all because of the age differences. So I said when I have my kids they are going to be close in age but not to close. Right now my daughter is 8 and my son is 5. Hope this helps you out!

I beleive how long you should wait is different for every one. Ask your self how far apart you want your children, sometimes the closer they are the harder it is and vice versa. Think about school as well when one will start and finish, it may be helpful to you in the future to plan financially for their college schooling. Ultimately its one of those things I beleive you will just know by instinct. Alot of being about being a mother and making decisions rides on your natural instinct. I beleive following that is often the best advice given.

This is a good question, because I am also wondering when my husband and I should go for Number Two.
Jami, your kids are going to have so much fun growing up together! That is just like my brother and me; he was born 13 months after me and we have always been the BEST of friends!!

It all depends on how you feel are you ready to have another baby I had my first at 25 we started trying again 5mths later for no 2 it took awhile but there is 18mths between them only reason we had them close as my husband and his brother are only 9 mths apart (my husband was 3 mths premature) and he like how close they are.

I had my first at 23 (c/s), 17 months later my second (vbac), 17 months after that my third (vbac). By design because my husband and his brother are 16 months apart and that is what he wanted. We are now trying to decide if/when we should have another. We want 4 children, but I feel my body needs a break.
