Hi, I'm a stay at home mom (in winnipeg) struggling to make ends meet so I decided to start a home day care to make some money and provide my almost 1yo with a playmate or two. I just seem to have a hard time finding moms. I would like to know if my prices are reasonable ($20/day excl. lunch/snack, $25/day incl. Lunch/snack) or if there is something else I am doing wrong. I really need help! thanks

that price is not bad at all..try posting flyers in your neighborhood if you can afford it and also like the other moms said you can post on craigslist....good luck

The price is fine.. A lot of people want places that are insured and what not.. however post on craigs.. i found kids there to babysit!

a licenced dayhome in alberta charges 475 per month for non subsidy families. the dayhome provider get a share of this. (220 per month) i looked into it myself. so people may think you r charging way to much seeing as they can get licenced care for less.

every where is different look on craigslist in your area and see what others are charging, post an ad there too while your at it. it may help.

Well first call around and ask day cares around you how much they charge a kid (make it sound like you are looking for a day care for your kids) then lower the price just a little bit. Also if you and get your CPR license (call your EMS office to find out the next class or where to find on) that is always a plus and a day care givers license (you can get this through CPS or DHS) Then you should have no problem finding people who need someone to watch their kids

I think that is reasonable - I am in Cleveland OH and we take our son to an at home child care provider and she charges $28/day including lunch/snacks. I found our childcare provider on craigslist, if you haven't posted there, it might be a good place to try
hang in there, you will find a family!
