How to deal with major back pain?

I am going to be 29 weeks here on Tuesday and my back has been killing me. Nothing seems to be working. I have tried baths, heating pad, Ice packs, sleeping with 2 body pillows versus just 1 and nothing seems to be helping. I am starting to feel absolutely miserable. Everyone keeps telling me it's cuz of how tiny I am but I don't remember having this much back pain when I was pregnant with my daughter. Any suggestions?

This is going to sound so cliche, but if you're allowed to do Pilates, try them. I've had three kids (back labor with the younger two) and now suffer with chronic lower back pain. The only thing that's ever helped (when I have the time) are Pilates. They're gentle exercises that stretch and strengthen the muscle tissue so not only will it relieve your pain but it'll strengthen the muscles you're stretching so your back doesn't hurt as much/as often. i know two ladies pregnant right now,one is built pretty tiny,and they both say going to a chiropractor has helped a great amount for backpain and their headaches. but make sure they specialise in pregnant woman not just a regular chiropractic.

i was the same way with my second and I am also a small person. The only thing that helped even a small amount with my pain was a hot shower to loosen things up and then a back rub. But after a couple hours my back would be hurting again. It took about a week after I had my second for the pain to subside, but now, 5 months later, my back is fine. Sorry to say, it might not go away while you are pregnant, but it eventually will. Thank goodness we are not pregnant for years like elephants!!
