I teach 2 year olds and have a 2 year old myself and you really need to talk to them as much as possible! toddlers pick up 10 new words every day!! people in the stores look at me like I'm crazy sometimes because I have full conversations with my daughter as she is sitting in the cart and have done that ever since she was born. as long as your baby talk is just raising the pitch of your voice and not mispronouncing words you should be ok. also reading to her will help.
