5 DAYS!!! That is insane! I was lucky with both of mine. I had the pregnancy from hell but grea deliveries! My first was 3 hours start to finish, very intense and with no drugs. My second this past december was 25 minutes. Yes you read right. All the dr did was break my water and I went into labour and delivered in 25minutes, no drugs no coomplications. Your Dr never should have let you labour that long. That is crazy, you must nver want to give birth again! Power to you! You a strong women to go that long.

My labour was for a week. I went into the hospital at 33 weeks pregnant, I was 2 cm dilated, then I stopped. A couple of days later I went into hopsital I was 4cm dilated, then I stopped. After a week of not doing much and feeling really crap. I woke up one morning a couple of days later again, I was 7 cm dilated (i just thought they were brackton hicks contractions). My husband rang up the hospital and I went in. Twelve hours later I had my baby boy. He was 4 pound 11.5ounce (7 weeks early)

My labour went smoothly. Of course the pain was to be expected! Its worth all the pain when the outcome is so precious.

12 hrs of labor. I had to be induced but I was 3cm coming in. They gave me the pitocin at 9am, broke my water at 5pm, I got the epidural (GOD BLESS!) 20 minutes after tryin to brave it, with the awesome button to give me an xtra shot of pain meds every 10 minutes. So after an hour and a half, I felt no pain. At one point they actually told me to stop pushing cuz she was coming out so fast! At 9pm, my 5lb 5.5oz angel baby girl was born 09/09/09! No tears or rips, and a head full of hair =)

With my first kid I didnt feel contractions. I went into the hospital b/c I was spotting and I was 8 cm. That was at 6:00 pm. They gave me an epidural and it slowed my labor and I had my son at 3:30 am. So that one was about 9.5 hrs. With my second, I felt contractions but they werent too bad. So when I finally decided to go to the hospital I was 8 cm again and she came so quick I didnt have time to get meds. I got to the hospital around 6 pm again and I had her around 7:20 pm that night. I had started contracting around 9 that mornig but they didnt start getting bad and close together until about 4.

I went into labaor at 30 weeks, and continued to have contractions until I was induced at 39 and a half weeks. My actual labor was only 6 hours. And 40 minutes of that was pushing.

I actually was in labor for 16 hours (active labor) with my son and 6 hours with my daughter and I had no medication with either of them. They attempted to give me meds at the beginning of being in the hospital on my son but gave me too much and shut it off. It wore of in like 5 min. and I just told them to forget it. So I have about 5 min where I was not in pain. With my daughter I didn't get to the hospital until 20 min before she was born. They had to make me wait until they could get the doctor and a room ready. They rushed on that because she was crowning. I actually found that the pain I was in at home was not nearly as bad as it was at the hospital. Luckily I remembered the doctor telling me to get on my hands and knees to ease the pain until I was able to get to the hospital. It really did work. With my son it was really hard because I had just had surgery on my cervix and there was scaring still so even though I dilated correctly there was still resistance from the scars. If it hadn't of been for the scars the labor probably would have only lasted the same as my daughters. I don't know if I would have been able to handle being in labor longer than that.

Every labor, just like every woman, is very differant. Both of mine were very short. My first was 4.5 hours, and all of it was hard and strong labor. The contractions never really let up. I pushed for 20 min and that was that. I was high risk and had high blood pressure, so the epidural was a must to lower the risk of seisure. My second was less than 2 hours. Again, only hard and constant labor. The nurses rarely see that. It's nice to be done so soon, but you never have a break, just one long contraction. My doctor missed it- too fast, but another was there in the break room to catch. Had some bleed complications associated with my body going into shock with such a fast delivery, but no drugs were needed, just needed a couple shots of pictocin to stop hermoraging after delivery and some saline.

Hi, I was in labour for a day but was only pushing for 2.5 hrs of that, really quick, so i wouldn't mind another now lol. I only had gas and air while i was pushing, didn't no i could have it while i was having the contractions.....gutted. But definately worth all the hard work, my lil man 5 weeks old and gorgeous.

I started contracting on Wednesday morning they weren't regular until later that night they were every 7 minutes apart. The following morning i had to be at the hospital at 7am to be induced and they checked me and I was 4 centimeters so I asked for an epidural and an 1 1/2 later got it. I pushed for 20 minutes and had my daughter at 4:31pm....

oh wow i thought i was the only one.. i started having contractions at 1am monday monring and they were horrible.. they continued on till thursday when i delivered.. it sucked extra cuz they kept sending me back home when we'd go to the hosp... i was dilated 3 cm but they neededme to be 4.. i was soo miserable.. and the delivery! omg.. i was pushing for 5 hours.. when she finally came out i had been off my epidural for a couple hours AND they had given petosin(sp?) to increase my contractions.. i love my daughter to death, but that experience has me scared.. i don't wana do it again... we'll see..

I had pretty short labors with all 4 of my babies, the first was 6.5 hours no pain meds, 2nd was 4 hours with an epidural, 3rd was 1 hour no pain meds, he was posterior too, and almost 10lbs so that was horribly painful, I even hemorrhaged afterward. My last was 1 hour no pain meds, but thankfully she was 2 weeks early so only 7lbs 13oz, and the pain was totally manageable. I was already dilated 4-5 cm when I went into labor with all my kids, apparently my infrequent braxton hicks weren't so false, lol!

first 2 were very quick, this time with my 11 wk old had to have a section so didnt have to go through labour thank god-although the section leaves you feeling like you've cheated and i would have much rather had him naturally like the other 2.

Contractions started at 6pm on the thursday at 5 mins apart but barely lasting 30 secs. Kept going to hospital to be told it wasnt real labour.By friday evening pain was horrendous but only 2cm and I begged to be admitted, got a bed at midnight had pethdine, then more at 3am. At 6am started on gas & air, daughter was born at 9:51am on the saturday morning. Was told that I was only in active labour for 2 hours. So go figure.

not just you hun. my contactions started at 2am on monday morning at every 5 mins and stayed that way for 24hours. i called the midwife out and was told i was stuck at 6cm dilated, which wasn't enough to go into hopsital yet. come 2am wednesday morning i had had enough and went in anyway. they gave me 3 drips which took me to 7cm and still contractions every 5 mins, but no established labour. on thursday afternoon they prepped me for a C section as it had been over 3 days and i was exhausted. just as they were about to transfer me to the bed to go to surgery, i went to 9cm and was off. it still took me 2 hours of pushing as my daughter was spine to spine and had her head trapped. she was evenually born at 6pm on thursday after 90 hours.

what really annoys me is that when i tell people, they say that it's not the same and that i was only in 'established labour' for 2 hours - which is true, but i personally count it from when you start having regular contractions, so as far as i'm concerned i was in labour for nearly 4 days!

I was in active labour for 10 hours after my waters had been broken for me. I had contractions for about 12 hours before I went in to hospital at 11am, opted for an epidural at about 9pm. Couldn't take the pain any longer, fair play to the girls who did it without pain relief.

Mine was a nightmare! and a blessing. lol I started at 6am on the dot (aha I was looking at a watch coincidently lol) then by about 6pm I was at the hospital, I was going all natural and I was in labor for about 40 hours or so and then I finally decided to take a epidural only because they finally after how long said they were worried.... (the entire time his heart rate was low) Then after a while they finally got worried that if I didn't have him they could lose both or one of us (very emotional time) So I had a C-section and it turns out I had a fibroid (the doctors and nurses didn't read the chart...grrr) and he had his cord tied around him. so I had him at 3:32 if im not mistaken

My water broke at 5:30 am but it was a slow slow leak and wasn't feeling contractions. That night went to the hospital. They tried to induce me with 2 different methods pitocin and cervidel but nothing was happening. 2 days later they finally decided to break my water which they had to do twice after the 2nd time it was fifteen minutes until she was born!!! So I was in labour for 2.5 days but I didn't feel any contractions until 15 minutes before she was born.
