I am 22 weeks preggo with my 3rd and I have alot of pain in my pelvic bone area and some in my hip area.. Ive seen my dr about it and a physio therapist too.. the only thing that they suggested was to do kegels and wear a si belt which I have to wear everyday.. I cant do alot of walking or lift anything... as well as other things which isnt easy taking care of 2 kiddos .. just wondering if anyone else had this problem while preggo and what they did to help the pain..thanks in advance

thanks.. its more my pelvic bone that is giving me the most trouble.. my back hip pain may be relieved by some of the suggestions on here(ill try them)..as for the cyropractor I havent seen one in 5 years, the last time I did I was pregnant 16 weeks along and lost my baby only days later!!! so I dont have much trust in them at this point.. I did go to physio twice and all they suggested was to do kegels and wear an si belt(which does help) but I still cant do much.. like the other day I lifted my daughter(who is 2) and Im still paying for it today.. that was now 4 days ago..I sleep with a body pollow and it gets moved from side to side as I move(its the only way I can get any sleep).. I also tried a massage it actually made me feel worse later in the day(it was nice at the time).. so I dunno what else to do, I feel sorry for my kids because I cant get on the floor to play with them, putting pressure on one leg to stand up from the floor is hurting my pelvic bone almost to the point of crying..so Im sitting on furniture all the time.. they just want me to play with them.. Ill take any more suggestions

I also had a great pregnancy pillow that really helped make my hips feel better! Its in the shape of a long U i guess you could say you can find them online. they are soo comfortable. Not the solution but it helps!

I had alot of hip pain and back pain when i was pregnant. And my dr. told me to try and see a chiropractor, which is safe for you during pregnancy just ask your Dr. first. But i wasnt liking it to much. I went to physical therapy for a while and they gave me a ton of great exercises that helped. But unfortunatly it didnt go away 100% but it made me feel alot better!! Check it out and ask your Dr. about physical therapy or any good exercises you can do to help!

I dont really need things loosened.. that was my problem to start with.. on a bad day I cant even lift my foot to the step to go up then.. it feels as though my pelvic bone is breaking in two.. even rolling over in bed kills..

I did and I read that it is from the pregnancy hormones, causing everything to start relaxing and stretching, it probably gets worse with each pregnancy. I would take a tylenol and soak in the tub. Hopefully it won't last long. I know it must be hard to deal with when you already have kids to keep up with. Good luck!

unfortunately, i think this is normal, and it tends to get worse with each pregnancy. do what your doc said, and don't be afraid of tylenol.

also, try this exercise: get on all fours, and arch your back while exhaling. then, inhale, while slowly straightening your spine. doing this a few times should loosen your hips a little, but [like with anything else when you're preggo] don't overdo it.

another thing that helps me is to lay on my back for 15 minutes or so with my legs elevated and spread about shoulder-width apart. i put one pillow under each leg, and have found that not using one for my head straightens my back comfortably. it's even better with a heating pad under my hips.

hope this helps!
