i had mine when i was about 7 months pregnant, but its really up to you closer to the due date is better then you can play games that involve your growing belly too. i would have had it a bit earlier but the nursary wasnt quite ready and i wanted to make sure the nursary was completed first. I would say any time from 6 months is good

My son was due 01/02/07 and was born 11/30/06! I'd say at least 6-8wks before your due date would be a good time to have a shower.

About at 7 or 8 months, the bigger you are the more fun the games are for everyone but you also want to have enough time to put everything together before your little one comes. Congrats!

I had mine at 7 months, I think 6-7 months is a good time to have a baby shower it gives you time to do everything before bub comes like washing the clothes and things u get it also gives u time to relax so ur not running around doing everything just incase bub comes early.I was due on the 26th april and had my baby shower on the 7th feb. My baby came 2 days early on the 24th april

I would think you would want it a little earlier since since your due date is so close to x-mas. Or if friends and family have concerns with getting extra gifts with the season have the shower after and make it a meet and greet!

I had mine at 8 months but I was so huge and miserable I wish I had done it at 7 months. This would also give you lots of time to still get anything you do not get at the shower. Since this would put you right around the holiday season if you have family who come in from out of town try and plan it so they can attend.

I think typically around 7 mo, or for us since we just had one for our son and its going to be so close we are talking about having one after this baby is born just for everyone to meet, and have desert, just an idea.

It is really up to you I had both of my baby showers a month before I was due. Another good idea is to have a Meet and Greet baby shower after the baby is born that way you can ask for the things that you still really need and people will really want to come to see the new baby.

Good Luck

My due date was Jan 21st but he came Jan 2nd. So with my date, just like urs, being so close to the holidays I wanted it early. I had mine the beginning on Nov, before Thanksgiving. I know people get busy with holiday things so I didnt want to add to the stress.

my baby shower was thrown atleast a month before my due date, but i think you need more time so you can wash and fold all the clothes that you get and get the room in order the way you want it. so you wont have to do that stuff when you get home like me.

My sister in law was due jan 11th and we had her babyshower before thanksgiving because we figured that was the best time when people wouldnt be as worried about the holidays and this way people would be able to come who wanted to

I had mine 2 weeks before the due date which was perfect because then i got a chance to have everything nicely set up and ready to go when he was born! thats when i was really "nesting" too so it gave me something to do!

Im due with my first child on Jan. 6 so congrats first of all... Let me say most babies dont make it to their due date so u might be looking at a december baby. I am havin my baby shower Oct. 10th when i am about 27 weeks. However my shower is back home with my family which is about 1300 miles away. So i want to have time to clean and sanitze the room and everything in it before I start decorating and then do it again afterwards. Hope this helps a bit..

I think you should have your shower atleast in the beginninng of Novermber, just because you have to think of the holiday's Thanksgiving and Christmas. Also remember you could have the baby early, this way you have your shower now you can be more prepared for when the baby arrives.

I had mine when I was about 6 months. This is a good time because your belly has grown a good bit and you know what you are having, what you want your nursery to be decorated in, etc. It is also early enough to get anything you may need that you didn't get at the shower and early enough to finish up loose ends before the baby arrives. I am a planner and I like to do things ahead of time so I don't stress at the last minute that I need something or something isn't done. Having it all done early where I was stress free was good, since my son was a month and 2 days early!

My daughter was born January 18th and her due date was the 14th.I had mine November 10th because my moms baby shower for me was on june 6th and the due date was june 15th and guess what I was born on june 6th the day of the baby shower. I would recommend at least a month before, but I did it in November because Christmas was in december and did not want to make it to where people could not get a gift for it because of christmas.

All my baby showers were thrown about a month before my due dates. That is plenty of time to wash or exchange the clothes and play with all the oh so cute baby stuff you will get. Have a great shower!

with my first my coworkers trhrew my shower tree weeks before my due date, mith my second my co workers had 2 months before my dues date. I think most people wait till the third trimester so they dont have all the baby stuff crowding the house for a long period. My question is why are throwiing your own shower. Isnt that the job of family and or the godmother?

I had my shower when my I was 7 months pregnant. my son was due in February, so I didn't want to get in the way of the holidays. Most say have a shower at 8 months or so, but one my friends gave me some great advice that you want to have one month to get all your last minute things ready. especially with all the items you will recieve from the shower. You need time to build swings and bouncers, wash all the clothing, sterilize the bottles etc. You don't realize, but there is sooo much that has to be done after a shower. For me my shower is where the bulk of my supplies came from. Having that month to get it all situated and together was sooo worth it because I was able to see what I had and needed & have the time to get it all situated before my son came.

I never actually had a baby shower. But my sister had hers after the baby was born, which I think is much better. That way people can buy appropriate gifts, because you know the sex of the baby and the size... you don't end up with 30 packs of size 1 diapers that will only fit for like 2 weeks.
