i have raised them for a long time, my nephew doesnt like it if anyone says im not his mom and my niece doesnt even remember the real mom. i just need advise on wether its good for them or not it seem to bother them more if i say no im just your auntie.

I think this is such a sweet compliment. They truly love you and it's obvious you love them too. I agree with Brittany. Make sure they know they have a biological mommy. You are the closest thing they have to a mommy. Embrace it and continue what you are doing (treating them like your own children). Not many people will step in where you have. If you are uncomfortable with the word mommy... maybe you can try an alternative affectionate name like Meme or something like that. If I were you I would leave it up to the kids.

I agree, there was a big convo here about step-parents being called mom and dad - but these children are wanting a Mom, they feel like your their Mom, and if your ok with it and plan on always filling these shoes, I would absolutley let them call you Mom. Not only does it save them from explaining their situation as to how it they ended up with you - but it also makes them feel normal and just like everyone else they have a mom. Make sure they know they do have a bio Mom, but because she can't be there for them you love to do all the things a Mom can do for them and love being their Mom.

If you are always going to be there for them, I don't see any reason for them to not call you mom, since they've already expressed that they want to.

A mother is the person who gives birth to you a mommy is the person who is raising you loving you and is always there for you. I would let them if that is what they want to do and as long as they know who that they have a bio mom then it should all be good.
