Hi Hattie... lighting is also an option that u cld look into. i got these strings of colorful rice paper mini Chinese lanterns from Target which look real cute strung across the room or simply hanging down one wall.

Change the curtains :-) My daughter has her own set of colourful pink and purple curtains and I just replace with the old ones when I leave. She has a windcrime hanging on her window. How about colourful cushions on her bed? And a large colourful playmat. You could always get her lots of stackable shelves that will cover up alot of the walls and give her room some colour. Hope I may have helped or someone else has here :-)

You can hang almost as many pictures as you want with only 2 nails. String a clothes line or ribbon from nail to nail across the whole wall. Add clothes pins or paper clips to hang photos or the childs art work. It looks really cute and is easy to update as often as you want.

Have fun and embrace your and your childs personality when decorating.

thumb tacks and light material, thumb tacks are easy to hide the holes when moving- a little bit of crest toothpaste, let dry then wash wall, it stays in hole and it looks good as new, cloth if light weight will require less tacks and will be able to change the room without paint.

Hobby Lobby!! You can always find something on sale, and they have so many options. I have gotten different type of fabric and different picture frames put them together and you have some very cool art. Not only is it good for a baby room, but it also works for the rest of your house. Instead of using fabric you can use the scrapbooking paper.

Hanging curtains usually helps to brighten a room too. The vinyl letters are also a great solution. Large pillows on the floor, rugs, anything big and bright will help the room.

I understand your problem, we live in an apartment too and I have had to get creative as well.

Most apartment complexes wont charge for the nail holes from hanging pictures, as long as you dont use big screws to hang things.

For your daughters room you could always decorate wooden letters or shapes (hearts, stars, etc.) and use mounting putty to hold them up to the wall (it's almost like gum) That's what I had to do in college. Works for pictures & posters, too! Hope this helps!

you can get removalbe stick on pictures...my daghters room is white and i put them all through her room. There are rainbows and teddies and horses. it looks really good. Plus i bought a toddler princess bed, table and chairs and toybox. And also princess curtains. Also i have a canopy thing hanging from the roof.
It looks really pretty and girly, just like her :)

Also cushions, book cases with teddies on them and bedside table with a nice lamp..all these things help to fix up the room a bit

like they said wall stickers, but if you feel really ambitious Lowes and home depot also have wallpaper borders that are stick on and peel off. They do tend to peel down a little over time, but hey its not perm. :)

there are stickers for your walls and windows to decorate. you can get sticky pads to post pictures up that way you do not need to hammer in any nails.

Oh, I know that feeling. Most stores now are really embracing vinyl lettering and pictures. You can usually find them by the picture frames. They are great! They really let you decorate and give personality to any home without the worry of having to damage walls and such.

Hope this helps,

Andrea
