I'm thinking about trying the Mirena Implant and was wondering if anyone else is on it.

I have the mirena . It has worked wonderful for 2 years . the only down side is that i felt like i was pregnant every month. It was very common the way i felt between me and other people who were also on the mirena.

I had it and HATED it! I went into menopause, started losing my hair, hot flashes, depression, sex hurt (both him and me) and ovarian cist from an over developed egg that couldnt drop. When I had it removed all of this went away, my egg dropped and 9 months later I had a baby. TOTALLY unplanned we were trying to get my hormones to regulate before starting something else. I wouldnt do it again if my life depended on it.

my sister had the problem of non-stop bleeding, but she also had other problems as well. now i have had mine (the copper kind which is non hormonal) for 3 1/2 yrs, at first i had cramping, a lot of heavy bleeding, but i have mellowed out and i LOVE it. pills and shots didn't work for me and made me a raging monster, so the IUD has worked wonders.

I had the Mirena for 9 (yes 9!!!!!) years. Like alot of people I had some cramping first of all, but was totally worth it. My doc said it could be in place for up to 5 years but each time I went for a checkup she said that as long as there was still benefit from it ie. no periods so it was obviously still working, there was no need to remove it. I had no periods at all after the first 6 months of having it, and the only reason I had it removed after 9 years was because my husband had a vasectomy. I have recommended it to so many friends, although I do appreciate that maybe it's not for everyone, but for me the lack of monthly periods made it totally worthwhile.

I have had my Mirena Implant in since November 2008, and for four months I had my period non stop, now I don't ever have my period, barely ever have any spotting, I'm not sure if this is normal or not? I also have really bad cramping sometimes and I've never had bad cramps before this, so I'm not sure? It can be a good and bad thing lol, good luck.

not a prob with it here a little cramping at that time of the month I hav always had that. the cramps no longer seem debilitating like they used to be. Every body will react differently to different forms of contraceptive. just read up and inform yourself of the possible side efects make an educated informed desicion. There are goods n bads to everything.. I do like that the mirena has a lot longer protection than the implamon implant in the arm and I had break through bleeding for ages until my periods stopped altogether. Mirena still gives me a light monthly so I know im having my cycle still..

only go to an experienced physician to insert it hav your local refer you to sum1 who specialises in sexual health? you may feel a bit more confident having it inserted then. good luck in your desicion..

i had the mirena implant put in sept. of 09 worst expierence of my life... it punctured my uterus, i had to be on pain meds through an i.v for 2 days and i bled for 3 months straight after removal, not to mention the horrible pain from insertion and removal. but thats what happened to me make sure you read all the material about and dont think it cant happen to you cuz thats what i thought.

I had the mirena implant and got bad stomach pains like someone was stabbing me. I also get sists on my overy with hormoes so I am unable to be on birth control. When I was on it my period never ended for 4 months. It was horrible.

ive had the mirena implant for just over a week now, it was a lil uncomfy to have it put in and i cramped A LOT after i had it put in( i work in a warehouse and i lift 60+lbs boxes) so i think thats why i cramped so bad. so far the only downer is ive been spotting for a week. but thats normal. i would say if you get it take it easy the day you get it in!

i have heard pluses and minuses about the mirena implant but i had it and i almost lost all of my hair, got lumps in my breasts from it, (they went away after a while of the mirena implant being taken out) and i had horrible horrible stomach pains. SO i would say look into it before you do cuz it was a bummer for me

i got it back in july and LOVE it! most of my friends have it too. everyones body responds different but i only had cramping and spotting for a couple weeks. i read all the paperwork on it and its more effective than a vasectomy!
