I had brown spotting, and sometime a little more than just "spotting" up until week 16 of my last pregnancy. I think every one is different. This didn't happen my first pregnancy. Doctors couldn't tell me what the cause was, only that every time I went in there for an urgent check up bc of a new bout of spotting at first they would say I had a "threatened miscarriage" then that everything was fine. Obviously no miscarriage, my son is almost 2. I started the spotting a few days before the test came up positive. The human body is a science, but then again you put so much unnatural things in it like birth control pills, the science is still being researched, so like I say I think every one is different. Hope you get the answer you are wanting, on if you are expecting or not.

Its possible you could be, some people have implantation bleeding, i did with my 1st pregnancy. The tests these days can give you a result from the 1st day of your missed period. Id get one and see.

spoting is normal in pregnancy... so yes your could be. Take a test if you take it right after you wake up, its most likely to b right. If your still unsure go to the docters

I would wait a few more days before taking a pregnancy test. Or just take one if you can't stand waiting. It is definitely possible you could be pregnant.

Id take a test. The same thing was happening to me right before I found out I was pregnant with my son. I took the test 2 days after I was supposed to get my period. Good luck!

Are you breastfeeding? If you are, sometimes it takes a while for your cycle to become regular again. If you're not, I would take a pregnancy test and write on the calendar each day what is going on, pain, flow type and color. and just keep track that way too. Good Luck!

I am kind of in the same boat except I am currently on the pill....The week before I was supposed to get my period, I had what was like a period but it was a brownish substance. Enough to have to use a form of padding. But the next week NOTHING... It has been another week after that and still nothing! I am not sure if I am pregnant or not so I am not sure if I should STOP taking my pill, because if I am not I dont want to screw anything up?? I currently do not have a doctor because I just moved out of state...I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO?? Someone please help?

I had spotting when i first got pregnant with my 3rd child. I didnt know i was pregnant yet but i ended up going to the hospital and they did a blood test it came up as a borderline pregnancey. They couldnt tell if i was or not. So just keep in mind that not all tests are 100 percent correct!!!! But i would deff get another test!!!

YES YOU COULD BE PREGNANT IT'S NORMAL TO SPOT AND SOMETIMES GET A PERIOD WHEN YOU R PREGNANT. SAFE BET IS TAKE A TEST OR MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR DOCTOR TO FIND OUT. THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND I WAS IN FACT PREGNANT AND I HAD A WEIRD PERIOD A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO THAT WAS BROWN NOTHING HEAVY BUT BROWN AND LIGHT AND IT ONLY LASTED FOR A FEW DAYS BUT NORMALLY MINE LASTS LONGER AND IT IS RED AND HEAVY FLOWED. SO I HAVE TO GO AND GET CHECKED OUT TO. GOOD LUCK THAT'S YOUR SAFER BET

A light period can be a sign of pregnancy, but it is not a sure sign. Some women menstrate while pregnant for a month or a few months and very few the whole time. I would definately do a pregnancy test. It should show by this time. If you are still worried or think you might be pregnant then I would schedule an apt with my doctor to have them check. Hope this helps!

Birth control can cause spotting, but if you're not taking any then it's a perfect time to go to your Dr. and get tested. :) Home pregnancy tests didn't work for me and I was two months pregnant at that time.

Most tests can be taken now even before you miss your period, wouldn't hurt to give it a shot for your own peace of mind.

Go ahead and take the test huni or you can wait a month. One of my friends has been having the same problem for months now and the doc says she is not pregnant and it's due to stress. So go ahead and take a test but if it comes out negative see your doctor right away(well positive too! :) ) But remember try not to stress yourself out over it cause if you are pregnant that stress could harm the baby. So please just try to relax for yours and a possible child sake.

Usually to get a good reading on a pregnancy test you should wait 4-5 weeks. When i thought i was pregnant with my daughter, i waited a week to see if i got my period and it gave me a negative, then when i realized 2 weeks later that i wasnt feeling the greatest, i went and bought 3 different brands and tried them out of a cup to make sure it wasnt just the test itself and ended up i was 5 weeks pregnant by then. Good luck, I hope you get the answer you are looking for!!

When is your last day of menstruation? And if it's already a month past your expected day of menstruation you could be pregnant. If you still dont have your period two weeks from now try to buy pregnancy test kit.

What exactly is your situation? Have you just recently stopped breastfeeding? How long ago did you give birth?
Usually it takes a while for your uterus to get back into routine, and even then, it won't be the same as before.
The best time to take a pregnancy test is usually as soon as you see you're late. But if you're spotting, its prob just coz you're body is sorting itself out.
All the best.

ok....Im one of those special people that home tests tell me im negative, even whn im pregnant, until my 2nd trimester. It could b implantation spotting...or just a break through spotting of ur period. If it was me, I would give it a week nd retest. Good luck.

You can take a test as early as the first day of your last period. Do not stress your self out. You could be pregnant or it could be late due to stress. Which ever, I hope it works out the way you want:)

With this pregnancy. I took 3 early response test and they were all positive. So I went to the Health Department and theirs was negative. As soon as I left I went and bought another home pregnancey test and it was positive. They told me at the Doc office to wait 5 days and take another one and I would know for sure. Well I was right! Prego with #2 yay! Anyway Is there anyway you just could have misread the test?

Wait a few days then take another test! I spotted like you, and I didn't start when I was suppose to so I took a test, and it said negative. That was the day my period was supossed to start. I waited two days and took another, and it said negative again. Finally, I took a third test when I was exactly one week late, which was mother's day, and sure enough I was pregnant. I am now 15 weeks pregnant, and I have spotted 3 more times since then, but it is perfectly normal. I spotted with my last child, as well.

clear blue tests are always the best way, and sometime first response, or if you don't want anybody to know that ur getting a prenancy test, go somewhere like a family doctor who will keep it privte till you decide. i went to birthright last time, i was really late for at least two months solid, i went, and it showed negative, they asked me if i had some stree at home, and if so, do something about it, talk to my hubby for some alone time with him, find a sitter or take long relaxing baths, or just read in another room from distractions. find a birthright around area, if not then buy a claer blue test.

If that was when you were supposed to get your period take a test for sure. Mine was like that 2 weeks ago so i waited the week out and started a new pack of pills without getting a full blown period and then 7 days in to the pack i had red blood...i took 2 tests, both negative so for me it was probably stress from our move.
Good luck

Yea best bet it to wait it out. It sucks but ever time I've been pregnant the test is neg if I take it close the my missed period. I usually wait 3 weeks and then take it. Plus everyone is right there are a lot of false neg and false pos. That's why I always get the blood test done as well at 3 weeks to know for sure! Hope that helps! Sorry there's no comforting words other than to wait!

each pregnancy is different, I know a few women who tried for nearly a year for their first child, but then their bodies "knew what to do" and the second pregnancy happened as soon as they stopped birth control. You took one test and had a negative result, I would wait the week and take a second test, but if you still haven't had a normal period I would be evaluated by your physician or at a clinic.
(Jenny Ray, it does not take sperm 10 days to reach and fertilize an egg, sperm can survive for 7-10 days after intercourse and still fertilize an egg, or fertilization can occur on the same day as intercourse depending on the presence of a mature egg. it can also take 10 days for implantation, so there are a few ways that you may have gotten your facts confused =) )

Good luck!

Each pregnancy is different...but we also have to weigh i genetics as well....if you are able to talk with you mother and see what happened with her pregnancy(ies) then weigh that in as well as just remember that each pregnancy is different. Don't count anything out when it comes to pregnancies....I hope for the best in everything!

i wasnt on anything recently that would of messed with my system. after i got off the pill my husband was talking about wanting to try for another and saying that he was ready to take on another child. We have a daughter who will be 2 in January. so when i thought i got my period but here it was spotting he was excited that he could possibly have another baby on the way. so i am waiting a week or so to try another test. Its just weird because i never did this with my first pregnancy. My first pregnancy was planned but it took me like 6 months to get pregnant with her and now this one (if i am) was really easy cause we just started trying.

Yes you very well could be pregnant. The spotting you saw could be the implantation bleeding which is possible in every woman. I had it but like yours it was short. How I would judge when to take teh test would be how long you have gone WITHOUT a normal period. Not including the spotting. I waited a week after I was suppose to get my cycle, and by then it came out but faintly positive. I then made sure it was not a false reading by repeatedly taking 2 more tests afterwards...then called the doctor. But if all else fails and you are getting negative results I would call your OBGYN and make an appointment to make sure nothing is wrong.

Hi

I would take a test 4 weeks after your period was due otherwise it will be too early to detect it. Sometimes you have to do it even later than that

I'm in the medical field (medical assistant) and we are told that anyone who suspects they are pregnant, should wait at least 10 days before taking a pregnancy test. I know of a woman who came in saying she missed her period and took a pregnancy test, it was negative. She came back about 2 weeks later, took a test, and it was positive. The reason for this is, after intercourse, it takes the sperm about 10 days to actually reach the uterus. I know right now you're kind of freaking out because you're unsure and you have spotting, but let me ask you this.. are you on any kind of birth control? I know you mentioned you got off the pill a few months ago, but have you taken any during these past 2 months? If you are taking the pill, and you aren't taking it regularly, it can cause spotting and misconfuse it you are pregnant or not. I would wait at least 10-14 days before taking one. I've been in this situation before and trust me.. I was super scared, but my husband was extremely excited. Turned out that I wasn't, but it's okay. Hope the best for you :)
