We are pregnant with our 3rd boy. my due date is june 2nd, only a little over a week away, but i had been having contractions for about a week(and not dialating) until they just stopped a couple days ago. im super ready for him to come but dont exactly know how to induce my own labor lol i already know to try sex and castor oil, which the first one isnt doing anything and castor oil doesnt sound so appealing since it might not do anything. any ideas?

If it doesn't feel weird to you, you can use nipple stimulation without the breast pump... I didn't want to be induced with pitocin so the night before my induction I (sorry) tugged pulled and twisted them for about 15 minutes every hour or so, after 3 hours was in full blown labor... Hope this helps

Hey gal try a midwife, they are way more sensitive and smarter than smart ass doctors who just want a buck and no fuss. blessings

sex and sitting with me legs crossed and up afterward to help pool the semen on your cervix helped me

have you tried walking?...lots and lots of walking? gravity can help put pressure on your cervix to get it dilating. also remember that just because you haven't started dilating yet doesn't mean you won't go into labor soon. every woman is different...some start long before labor starts and some dont start dilating until contractions are strong and regular.

he'll come when he's ready. don't worry too much about size, especially since you have 2 other kids...when you are this far along in your pregnancy, they gain weight much slower so it might not be as bad as you think.

good luck...and as far as sex goes, at least you'll have fun trying to kickstart your labor, even if it doesn't work :)

i cant make breast milk so no boobie pumps for me :( and my doctor (this is a different one from who delievered my other 2 boys) is an idiot he knows that i have humongous babies but he said since i didnt come in for a first appt until i was 16 weeks (because medical insurance took so freakin long) that i wasnt "part of the percentage who can be induced i have to wait it out" i was like um are you stupid? lol seriously i didnt get into a doctor with my first son until i was 18 weeks and i was induced with him! but ill be 39 weeks on wednesday and i know he has to be over 8 lbs now i dont know why they wont induce me. not to mention if i talk to my doctor he'll probably say somethin smart assy to me like he always does. yeah i dont like him very well lol

I tried everything. Change in elevation, Walking my butt off. Sex. Hot baths. eating spicy foods. Pretty much everything but Castrol Oil. Eww. Nothing worked for me and I had really aggressive braxton hicks. That baby isn't going to come till its ready. Good luck. When they induced me they gave me a pill that disolved under my tounge that is normally for heart patients but they discovered that it induces contractions. You might want to ask your doctor about it before they give you petocin.

if you have a breast pump, nipple stimulation is really the only thing that is proven to induce labor (sex works because semen softens the cervix, and orgasm can trigger contractions). nipple stimultation causes your body to release oxytocin which causes contractions. i would definitely talk to your doctor about that one though because it can actually work too well.
