I used black cohosh but it took 4 days to work. The lady at the health store told me how many to take. I had very intense labour with this but it only lasted 4 hours with 6 min of pushing. I also drank one cup of rasberry tea each day for one month.

My friend took Blue cohosh and went into labor about an hour later! But it did make her throw up.I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I plan on taking it at 39 weeks. My doctor has his wife take it at the end of her pregnancies because he says it makes labor shorter.

I used just the Blue Cohosh tincture. I started it at 1:00pm and took a few drops in tea every 4 hours as directed. I did this til 8:00 and no labor. I went to bed frustrated because I was a week late and wanted this baby out. Well at 7:30 in the morning when I woke up I was in active labor. The Bule Cohosh Def works! The only thing I have bad to say is that I beleive it made my contractions and labor itself much more aggressive than a labor without it. I have nothing to compare it too, I guess I could just have extremly aggressive labors. But if your overdue and want that baby out, Def take it! Best of Luck!

Amber, none of these items are FDA regulated so be very careful. I get that you are uncomfortable and want to get the show on the road but why can't you let nature take its course? If you are really miserable, have you discussed induction with your doctor?

i tried both and all they made me do was puke...lol however what did work was acupressure. if you get online and see which points youre not suposed to push while youre preggers, well they are the ones to use! lol the most effective for inducing labor are called "joining the valley" and what you do is: hold your hand with your palm facing away from you, with your other hand find the muscle in between your index finger and thumb. push on it and hold for 30 second intervels. the other one is in your ankle, just above your heel and right behind your ankle joint. grab the space between the tendon and bone and use the same method as the previous spot. these two things helped me soooo much. i was 8 days late and needed to b not preggers nemore. we used these points and about 8 hours later i was in full blown labor. i would try these before the cohosh, cuz they really taste HORRIBLE and i didnt find them as effective. hope this helps
