this could sound harsh and some moms can agree with me, but i started my oldest(now 3) at a public daycare at 9 weeks. i had a csection so i was out of work for a little longer than normal but i wanted him to socialize as EARLY as possible and help to build a better immunity to bacterias and germs..and now at age 3, i think he's very good at being able to fight off most illness and he LOVES making new friends! i'm a sahm now so my youngest hasnt been to a public daycare, but i watch 6 other kids at home so it's basically the same thing!

Yes 2 is a perfect age. Because if you want a child that can interact well with other children then socialization beginning as soon as possible is a good idea.
