is anyone else having trouble conceiving their second child?

iam planning to get pregnant ,but now my first child is 8yrs old,is it advisable to try for second baby,i had put little weight in my belly area after my first child,and iam not getting my periods properly,will it be a reason for the delay ? is it advisable to get pregenant again?
can any one help me,iam not over weight too.

We are going on 13 months of trying and it is getting so frustrating. I have not had a consistent period since my daughter was born, and we go this month for a battery of tests to figure out what the heck is going on. I completely understand when you feel like everyone is getting pregnant and you can't conceive. Some women cough and they are pregnant, I knew it was going to be difficult, and I love my daughter, but it makes me sad to think she may be my only one. If she is, well she is the best only one I could every have. Keep up the faith I know I have to!

My son just turned 3 in Sept. I haven't been able to conceive since giving birth to him either. Before I had my son, I had a miscarriage.

Baby aspirin is prescribed to keep the blood flow thin through the placenta when you become pregnant . I went into labour at 27 weeks because of blood clotting placenta I was monitored every two weeks on subsequent pregnancies and with taking the baby aspirin 80mg per day I went to term ! Dr Alexander kofinas at new York Methodist hospital park slope pioneered this procedure ... He has a website that explains all about it ... If u have any problems with miscarriage take the aspirin it will help !!!!

Vodka...LOL...it worked for me. But I also read that some women have a disorder that a simple baby aspirin can help with. I believe its something to do with the blood but can't recall exactly what. A famous singer suffered a few terrible miscarriages due to it and successfully carried her baby because of a daily baby aspirin. I'm not saying it will help your situation specifically but sometimes the easiest remedies are the best answers.

Best advice is this ... Go away for long weekend break with your hubby during your week of ovulation 3 days before my period always works for me ...drink wine or champagne have intercourse at least three times a day until you return home !!! Make sure you orgasm each time you have sex .. Preferably after your husband !!! Have fun !!!

We started trying to have another baby when our son turn a year old, he is now 3 1/2. Found out three weeks ago that I as pregnant, week later found out it was twins (super excited) and then this past week I miscarried. (Wendy Greeley, if you have an advise on how to deal with the lost please message me) My husband and I have decided to start trying again as soon as my OB says that my body is ready. Just don't give up!!

have you tried FemGest found at GNC store...natural prgesterone cream that you apply to the inside of the wrists or tummy in a very small amount daily except for the week of your cycle...it has worked like a charm for more than one of my friends...and relax...all the best

I had a very hard time getting pregnant the second time. I got pregant about 9 months after trying but miscarried. Then my cycle stopped completely and I had to be put on progesterone. It just seemed crazy to me because I was only 26. But I did get pregnant agian and now have a beatiful baby girl. Keep trying but don't think about it. Once I decided to not pay attention to the canlender so much then I finally got pregnant. Sometimes all the planning and check for ovualation can get your body to stressed. Good Luck! It will happen, don't give up just relax.

Kirsty, in the book taking chagre of your fertility, it teaches you what the signs of ovulation are so if you have an odd cycle, like 38days, you will know what to look for every month. It is possible to ovulate at odd times during your cycle, it is for everyone. And like i mentioned before, it can also be possible that all the stress is either pushing back ovulation to later in your cycle or stopping it all together. Also, do not wait to have sex, you should be having sex every 2-3days. If you think by having sex wheny ou think you are ovulating you are lessening your chances even more by your husband lower sperm count and the fact that the first ones out the gate will almost be dead...if it's been a while. Keep a normal healthy sex life for sure.

we tried for 9 months before we concieved our second and i was constantly thinking about becoming pregnant and doing all sorts of tests too. i got to the point i just wouldnt buy tests and had myself convinced i would not get pregnant (thinking about it too hard had me go 6 months straight without a period) when i finally admitted to myself there must be a problem with me and i was not going to get pregnant (and i had myself convinced of that honest to god too) i had a positive blood test come back. i was supposed to start pills to start my period again but i had to get my bloodwork done first and when i was told it was positive i was that shocked i couldnt believe it, i actually had to see the results and do a home test lol. So relax dont think onto it (trust me it will be hard) and have fun :) and good luck

thank you all so much i feel better knowing im not the only one i was staring to think there was something wrong with me lol, to answer most of your questions i Havant used any form of birth control since i was 16 ( i get very ill), my tests came back fine except that i have a 38 day cycle, and my partners sperm count was a little low, the doctor said it was still possible to conceive naturally. but no luck yet! does anyone know if having a longer cycle can affect ttc, the doctor said that i may be ovulating at random times during my cycle and thats why we are having so much trouble i don't know much about the whole ovulating thing besides the general idea of it. lol

I was told the opposite lol. It's the only cough syrup that's safe when you get a cold when pregnant and my fertility specialist said it would work...i can tell you one thing and it might me TMI but i never went anywhere without a liner on that month lol. I had never heard of the Glucophage before...i'll have to look that up to see what it is. New Years eve i wasn't even drinking, i was the DD, hubby was drinking. I guess his boys just needed a little spin lol

Rebecca, same thing happened to me. We got engaged on Christmas Day so that took my mind off of getting pregnant then on New Years Eve my sister watched our son and we went to a hotel for the night. Every other month I knew exactly around when I would be ovulating but this time I was so relaxed I never knew that I was and we got pregnant on New Years Eve. It will happen when you least expect it. My doctor also put me on medication called Metformin or Glucophage to help with my ovualtion problems.Yeah, I used the cough syrup as well...it has to have Guaffenison ONLY in it not the DM. If it has other ingredients (Dextromethorophan) it can actually dry up your secretions making it harder.

I have given this advice over and over again because there are alot of women right now with the same issues. Go get the book taking charge of your fertility. It truly is a life saver. Like Wendy has suggested also, try to not try to get pregnant but just relax. In the book i suggested it teaches you EVERYTHING about your body so you can then use natural birth control later because you know the signs now of ovulation. Go pick up a bottle of Robitussin DM. It can't be anything else. Take 1tbs 2 times a day, i did it first thing in the morning and right before bed. It thins the mucus and helps the sperm travel better. We tried for almost a year to get PG with our first. We had seen a specialist and for the last month we had before needing drugs i was using the cough syrup and was busy with Christmas so my mind wasn't on it as much. We got Pg on new years eve actually lol. I have lent the book to a few women who also had hard times with PG for the first time and one who also tried for 2yrs without success. Her and her husband had fertility issues after the first one so off went the book to her and she is now in her second trimester. Don't lose all hope. If your fertility tests all came back fine it's most likely stress or you aren't ovulating anymore or at the same time every month because of the stress. I also found going to the gym was great. Again it kept my mind off of things and although i'm not sure if it helped 100% it was a great stress reliever. Most importantly don't make sex a chore. Make sex fun and romantic. Don't lose the energy you and your spouse had before trying.

OMG yes...it took me 9 months to get pregnant with my son(and i thought that was long) my husband and i started to try for are second when are son was 6 months,hi'll be 2 next month. so it's been and year and a half. we never used anything but condoms for those 6 months so i know that has nothing to do with it. i feel your frustration. hope it happens for you soon.

We had the same issue when trying for our second child. It was like 16 months when we got pregnant but miscarried at 9 weeks then got pregnant 6 months later. What were the results of your fertility tests? I have ovulation problems and my husband had a lower sperm count. We had 2 IUI's done with no success and managed to conceive on our own. When we were trying to get pregnant the worst thing I found was when people would say that I was trying to hard and needed to relax and let it happen. I thought it was very insensitive and totally wrong at the time but looking back to the times when I did get pregnant I had other things on my mind besides getting pregnant ASAP. There were times when I thought exactly the way you are now....will this ever happen? I've been there before and I know the agony. If you have any questions or just wanna chat you can message me. What form of birth control were you using before ttc? some can delay your fertility for 2 years or more
