It is a sign but if it continues and he is also showing other signs that don't relate to teething then you should bring him back in. Just keep an eye on it.

My daughter has it while she is teething. Not every child has it, but a lot do. I don't know how old your son is, but it could also be due to baby food or cereal that you are giving him. I tried cereal with my daughter a little early and that is what happened, so I waited because it was obvious her digesive system could not handle it yet. Also, certain foods will do it was well, just like it does to us. But more than likely, since he broke his first tooth through, that was the reason. Just make sure he is drinking plenty and doesn't get dehydrated.

Yes, at least in my experience, but it is not alone usully the child is grumpy, has very red cheeks, has his fingers in his mouth a lot, loves to chew on anything hard (dried bread is wonderful then), homeopathie and creams for teething helps him or paracetamol... A combination on things can help you be more sure what the diarea comes from...
good luck

I haven't heard of it being a symptom. I would definately take him to your doctor asap... because if you aren't careful it could cause dehydration. My son has diearea from a medicine that he was taking that he was allergic too. They said to be very careful for dehydration. He is on a brat diet for the time being and this might help you too. Pedialyte for sure, rice, apples, yogurt, things with grain. Hope this helps.

ihave not heard of diarhea being a symptom of teething but fever and red/swallen cheeks etc yea.. it could be bacteria from household items or animals getting into the mouth when they eat everything insite but having diarhea for so long would certainly raise some alarming flags i would get a second doctors opinion. banana bread and cows milk help to harden the poo and prune, yoghurt and skim milk make it soft so thats all he help i can give you =) good luck xo

This is a tricky one that most experts do not agree on. Some pediatricians believe that the extra saliva that gets swallowed can cause a loosing in stool. I would recommend watching his diapers for a couple more days and if the diarrhea continues, please report it your doctor.

hi rebecca.. diarrhea could be a symptom in teething not because of it really is included in teething but because when your child's gum hurts during the growth of the teeth he will suck and bite everything that's in his hands (e.g toys etc.). Usually he will suck his hands, but ofcourse we didn't know if the baby put his hands on something dirty or dusty etc. then a bacteria might entered his body and that's why he was having diarrhea... =( that's why sometimes diarrhea is really a part or teething.
