When I took my son for his 1 year check up he was 26lbs and when I took him a bit ago for another check up (18months) he was taller but was still 26lbs is that common? I guess I worry because when he was born he had trouble gaining weight took almost 3 months for him to get over birth weight. He eats well, he's lactose intolerant and we are vegetarian (he eat eggs and he can eat some hard dairy cheeses) I make sure that we combine proteins in the right way and use fortified products so he's eating a healthy balanced diet. He's also very active never stops for long and climbs on everything. He doesn't look to skinny just long and lean so should I worry about it or is just how he's built? Any one that has their child on a vegetarian or lactose free diet I would love your input but anyone with something helpful is appreciated. thanks

My son isn't on any special diet, but yes it's normal for toddlers not to gain weight as much. Since my son has turned 1 (he's now 2 1/2) he hasn't gained much, maybe 4 lbs. He's also very active so as long as he doesn't seem sick or tired and he is eating regularly I wouldn't worry

My son was born 6lbs 12oz and by 6 months he was 21 lbs! At a year he was 27lbs, now he is 2 years and 3.5 months he is 30 pounds. He's perfectly healthy.. just very active!
