My daughter sits up by herself, and that was the stage on the food, but I was just wondering when did you start feeding the 2nd foods?

When my son was 3 months I started him on second foods, after he had gone through all of stage one and I did check with his doctor first, he did wonderful on them and was much happier at feeding times.

I started my girl on 2nd foods around 61/2. Mostly just dinner time. It was funny to see the faces she made at some of the new flavors. But she handled the food well. Now she is 7 1/2 and eats them breakfast lunch and dinner.

As long as your baby has gone through all the Stage 1 foods that you wanted her to try and she's done fine with them, I don't see the harm in that.
But be careful b/c anything too thick may pose a choking hazard. I read on here, I can't remember which group or which thread, but another mom had a similar question and someone said something about the development of their esophagus. So just be careful and make sure you watch her closely.

I actually just had a WIC appointment yesterday and in the class that we had I asked the very same question. The teacher was a certified dietician and she said that as long as the baby is doing fine with stage one, moving on to stage two is perfectly fine. She said that there isn't really even much of a difference in the two and that stage one is mainly just to get the baby used to moving the food around in their mouth.

No, I think with anything, just try him out with a lil bit and stick with one flavor at first. See how he reacts to the consistency & taste etc. give his tummy a chance to digest it so you'll know if he has a reaction to it.
