My 13 month old doesn't like her milk cold or warm, she likes it in between & if I try to give it to her right out of the fridge she won't drink it. Is that wierd that I still warm it up for her & that she wont drink it cold? She drinks her apple juice & water cold in her sippy but not her milk. Any ideas? Also she used to drink her formula kinda cold (I would use water that was stored in the basement). I don't know what her problem is.

Hey, Did you know that when milk is warmed or heated up it activates something called triptofan that is naturally in milk and triptofan is something that can make anybody sleepy, babies or adults lol. Cool huh?

no because that is what she is use too. just think if you we;re a baby and all you knew was drinking something warm, then that is what you know and want all the time. nit something cold.. but eventually she will grow out of that as she gets older.

My son is 5yrs old and he still wants me to warm his milk before he goes to bed. He likes to drink warm milk in a lightning mcqueen cup. lol

Well, my almost 13 month old is the same way. I have warmed up her formula since she was born and her milk too since she has been drinking milk. She will not drink anything cold right out of the fridge. I have tried and tried to give her juice and milk cold and she doesn't like it at all. I am starting to just warm it up enough to get the chill off but leave it a little cool and she is just starting to sometimes drink her milk like that. Just every once in a while.

My son wont drink anything straight from the fridge unless it's a real hot day, his water ahs to be at room temp before he'll drink it and he still has warm milk but if it's hot out then we give it to him at room temp (thats the coldest he'll drink it). i don't think it matters, warm milk is easier on the stomach than cold and it feels nicer, probably like the difference between hot coffee and cold coffee - i prefer mine hot!

Oh my I have to say that i was guilty of that i was still warming up my daughters bottles when she was 18 months but when i had my second and my sister was the one watching her while i was in the hospital she just started giving it to her cold i know this doesnt help with a way to break her of the habbit but just know it can be done and that someone had done it longer then you have so dont feel bad!

I never warmed my daughters milk as we were told to give it to her at room temp and we have never had a problem, she also drink water cold out of the fridge from her sippy.

Why worry. My daughter used to have half milk half water and we always warmed it for her till she didn't want it warmed anymore about 2 1/2 years. All kids are different, if she likes it like that, why not, she still needs to drink milk for calcium so any way of getting it into her that is easy, go for it.

my 5 year old daughter is in kindergarten and she wont touch her milk unless it is in her tinkerbell sippy and made with the "bunny stuff" (nesquick) and it has to be warm. she has no problem drinking anything else ut her milk must be warmed for at least 50 sec in the microwave. i think its some sort of comfort thing and i had asked her doc about it and she said theres nothing wrong with it. like i said she is 5 almost 6 and in kindergarten. go figure lol

I still warmed my daughter's milk for a few months after her first birthday. She also didn't like it cold out of the fridge. Then one day I just handed her the cup from the fridge and she didn't care. I would gradually start making it less warm and see how she reacts. She may just need to see you pour it to know that it is still her milk.

no there is nothing wrong with it , and i agree with the other mom go a few degress colder each time to get her use to cold milk if you decide to go that way

Some people just like their milk warm.... i don't think there's anything wrong with it. If she prefers ti that way, keep warming it up.

OR if you want to stop it anyways, try it a few degrees cooler each time. She might get used to cold milk.

I personally don't like warm milk unless it's got some honey in it :-)
