I was having horrible cramps, especially during my periods, and even worse when I would have sex!!! I then found out, I have ovarian cysts that had ruptured. I would go get checked just in case. :))

I had problems around the first 4 months with the mirena but after a year went by i got used to it it been 3 years that i had the iud in.. When i got the iud in for the first cuple of months i felt really cunfortable during sex but it went away.. you body has to get used to it that all and all people body's work different them someone else.

It depends on how long you've had Mirena. I didn't have problems with it. It hurt like hell when my OB/GYN first put it in, but after that I was Okay. It may be a cyst or you may have endometriosis. It's worth getting checked out. Good luck. I've had Mirena since November 2010.

hey i had the copper coil in, and it came out by itself in jan 2012! i had so much pain and discomfort, everything inside was swollen, and pushed down, and when i had intercourse, it was uncomfortable and i dreaded it. i went to the doctors as said something wasnt right and she said its fine but couldnt find the strings, and i said there must be some way of checking its in the right place, so i went for an ultrasound, which came back fine.

since it has fallen out, im still abit swollen down there, months down the line, but not been to the drs since it has been out, i will be though as my partner is noticing it more now during intercourse, but it was a huge weight off of me when it came out, i knew something wasnt right, and i knew i was uncomfortable, but like i said, since it fell out, i have been able to enjoy sex, i actually want it now, whereas before i was sort of dreading it, and my periods have been regular and light whereas before they were all over the place and i was forever leaking through where it was so heavy. hope you get it sorted sweetheart, as i know how uncomfortable it is.

go see your doctor, do not sit at home suffering as it is possible something can be done to help, and also insist they do a vaginal examination and for a 2nd opinion if it comes to it get an ultrasound to make sure it is in the right place. :) good luck hun x

I had the same kinds of pain. I had my mirena Placed last June. I had constant pain. My dr kept trying to tell me it was normal. I moved and went to a new dr and found out that the mirena was embedded in my uterine wall.

I had my mirena for almost 3 years and then started having a lot of pelvic pain...so much so that I had it taken out and they found that I had several cysts on my ovaries. Unfortunately ovarian cysts can be caused (or made worse) by mirena. Once I had it taken out the cysts slowly got better and the pain went away. Maybe it is something similar. I think your best bet is to always check in with your doctor. Good luck!

I tried the implanon for four months but I ended up getting it out cuz I,bleed those entire four monyhs when my doc first told me about it I was realli happi to get it but I didnt realize I was gon bleed that much I honestly feel lik if I didnt end up getting it out I wouldnt b prego now lol bbut I was planning on getting da iud after I have dis baby bt now im worried:-/

I had mirena removed due to my pain and depression. Also had extreme hair loss and no sex drive. Had it removed and I feel Normal again.

my strings fell off and the iud had moved towards my left tube. took 35 minutes to get out. alot of pain and blood. almost went it for surgey. it was horrible! never again. i would rather go through labor than that ever again.

My sister has been experiencing this same thing. She even had it removed for thirty days and reinserted. The pain came back. :-(.

I experianced abdominal pain from my Mirena too and I thought it was normal until my OBGYN couldn't find the strings. Then they did the ultrasound.

No problem Samantha Implanon is internal birth control. It's low hormone so you can still nurse while on it. They place it under your arm in your tricep and you don't have to think about it for at least 5 years.

Some people don't like that you can feel it under your arm (it feels kinda like a toothpick and is an inch long) But I don't even notice it.

What is Implanon? I have 4kids...a 17yr old girl..a 16yr old son..then a 7 and 5yr old boys and im not about to have anymore lol im done..i wanted my tubes tied but i had alot of complications wth last birth so they cld not do it...i wld love more info on that implanon if so...Thanks a bunch

Hey me too! Ive had lots of discomfort during intercourse.i love the protection the IUD gives but ive had lots of discomfort lately i have had it for 4yrs now i dnt ant to get rid of it cus it just startsd from about 6mos ago...im makin apt wth my doc now that i hear others complaining...

I had the same thing happen to me. My mirena had moved out its original location and was no longer effective. It had to be removed. I would see your OB.

i tried checking my strings but my cervix was really high. you would think since it was so high i wouldve been able to feel them but couldnt feel anything. wonder if it moved up too far

I wouldn't be either. But it's actually quite rare for the Mirena to slip somewhere else. It is a side affect though

I have no idea. But I was having pains in my lower abdomin for a few weeks and I hadn't felt the strings. I went to my OBGYN and she couldn't find them either so I had the ultrasound and they found it in the left side of my abdominal cavity.

I had laproscopic surgery (a small incision in my naval and a smaller incision than that where the Mirena was) to get it out. And now I have implanon which I like even better.

I'd say yes. Have you checked the strings lately? I had to get mine removed because it went from my uterus into my abdominal cavity. I have Implanon now and I like it so much better.

Call your OBGYN and get them to schedule an pelvic exam and an ultrasound so in case they don't find it via the pelvic exam they find it with the ultrasound.

It probably is, but my 1st and foremost suggestion is to go to your doctor!! Getting medical advice online isn't very safe, only so much you can find out.
