have you ever heard of arbonne, they have a baby care line that is fabulous. there is an oil (not from the baby line) that works wonders on all types of dry skin issues and the results have been amazing...

Thanks you so much for the advice Natalie :) I haven't actually tried Aveeno cream. I am currently using the Eucerin Cream and it works "okay". I'll definitely give that kind a whirl. I am desperate for some relief!! Again thanks for your comment.

Hi there,a good friend of mine had really bad excema and tried everything,but nothing got rid of it.Her dermatolist told her to try AVEENO CREAM its made from oatmeal has no perfumes either,its quite cheap and you get it from the chemist around $10.Her hands and tummy cleared up and has kept her skin normal.hope that helps Rachel.

They you so much for you impute. Its been really really hard! I keep forgetting to put his humidifier back in his room. Also Alaw, it is sooo good to hear that I'm not the only one that has gone through this with the scratching and the sock hands(LOL). Ugh. I have tried every cream there is and I do have the steriod cream. And now he has seasonal allergies on top of everything so that comes out on his skin as well. Its just sooo frustrated. I'm so glad that your son is growing out of it and I'm praying that my son will do the same after a year of age.

My son has had dry skin since he was born. No creams or lotions seemed to cure it, and then when he was 7 months he had a flare up of eczema every time he ate something citrusy! He scratched until he was bleeding and it was really disrupting his sleep!! He goes to bed with socks on his hands too! I've tried different creams to moistureise his skin, some I've bought my self and others on perscription and the only thing that soothed it was a steroid cream he got from the doctor but he cant have too much of it as it thins the skin and a cheap moisturising lotion from the supermarket. He is 12 months now and his skin is much better. I think he's growing out of it! It is a real stressfull time for mother and baby, I know how you feel. Keep your baby moisturised and don't bath him too often, every couple of days worked for me as it seemed to irritate my son's skin less. Make sure that what ever creams or lotions you use are non-scented as I found these to cause some scratching! Hope things get better for you!x

What kind of cream are you using? My daughter has extremely dry skin and will scratch if I dont "lube her up" a few times a day. Also, Ive found not bathing everyday will help. And when you do bath use baby oil just before they get out and pat dry dont rub. then apply a cream not a lotion. most people dont know but there is a difference, and you may need to switch to adult kinds the kids may not be effective enough. My daughter just turned 4 so swaddling wont work. But just lube up a lot, and try a humidifier in his room.
