my daughter is 5 months old now, and since she's been 4 months old, she doesn't let anyone hold her unless its me or my sister. will she outgrow this? how do i get her to lighten up to her daddy or my mother. they can talk to her and everything, except for hold her. and when she feeds she will cry because they hold her to feed her. unless she is in her bumbo or swing.

My daughter went through it believe me its just a phase. But just remember not to give into her because even though shes only 5 months old their very smart and will cry bloody murder eventually. Daddy should definitly be able to hold his daughter, even though you might have to walk out of the room for her to stop crying. I had to do that with my daughter because all she wanted was me and no one else. Hope it helps...Good luck :)

Don't worry about it. It's only separation anxiety. They all go through it and they all outgrow it.

I have a 5 1/2 month old who was doing that last month. He would cry when I would hand him off to anybody else, even daddy sometimes. It seemed kind of early to me for separation anxiety but I guess that's what it was so I would either take him back or sit close to the person holding him so he could still see me. Offering a toy for distraction also helped. He seems to be over it for now b/c we were visiting my family last weekend and he let everybody hold him and didn't care where I was. My best advice is to be patient and continue to build trust with your child. One thing that will help Daddy to build that trust is to change more diapers or do bath time. :) Good luck! I'm sure this is just the first wave of separation anxiety for us as our babies get older.
