I have implanon inserted going on 1.5 years. How long did it take for people to get their periods back after removal? Thinking on TTC #2 aug-dec ..

I have been on the implanon for over a year now. I loved it at first because my periods were great! then i started bleeding a dark DARK blood for weeks! my doctor finally put me on more hormons to stop the bleeding. when he done that it was great, until the other day i felt like i had a miscarriage. i bleed SO much randomly, big clots, and bad cramps then it just stopped... has anyone else experienced this??

I'm currently taking the implanon and I love it. I've had it since 2007 and have had no side effects. I'm bad about remembering to take pills and I think I decided the best thing for me. I love not having to worry about a period also and since I've been on it I haven't gain any weight at all. I would tell anybody to take the implanon if you want something to work.

I had the implanon for 3yrs and then removed and reinserted for another 3yrs... I loved it although it makes your period irregular sometimes lasting 2-3 weeks with a very light flow but then i wouldn't get my period again for 2-3 months... It was just hassle free and alot cheaper than the pill. as soon as i took it out i got pregnant and had twins now my girls are 9mnths old and ive had it back in for 6months...

I had implanon and after 8months i begged my ob to get it out. I hated it i had the most SEVERE mood swings, i bleed the WHOLE time i had it, &i also ended up getting pregnant on it. She told me their would be little to no scaring putting it in/taking it out&i got this gross gotty scar on my arm due to it. Implanon was the worst birth control EVER.

Have you ever heard of mirena? that is also an implant that lasts for 5 yrs. My sister is on it and she has had no problems what so ever!!! she has 3 kids and definately does not want to get pregnant again! Also her husband is an obgyn and he says that its very effective. Plus you dont get your period EVER!!!

I'm thinkin about this too so really good to see the responses. The pill doesnt agree with me, what about the injection? My friend got it but shes having wee problems with it and she said it was really sore and has to be done every 3 months, so not too sure.

I had one for 2 1/2 years only had about 3 or 4 light periods so I thought it was great but after feeling that I was sufferinng from Depression the Dr removed it, it did help me feel a bit better after it was gone but didn't solve the depression problem. My other friend had hers removed after 5 months because it made her feel really down. I would love to have it back though but I think it would make the depression worse again.

I have the Mirana IUD and I would suggest that to everyone! I am the same way with the pill that is how I have two kids now. After my second one and seeing the commercials on tv I decided to give it a try. I have had it in two years now, have gotten my period twice and have had no complications. It is good for five years so no remembering everyday!

Quoting Anne-Marie:

I havent personaly had one but my friend had one and she then got her period for 7weeks straight. she decidsed to get it taken out and then a side affect of that was she started producing milk again. the doctor told her it would take about 3 months to stop and there was nothign they could do to make it stop.
