I heard that sometimes they can break them up so small that they won't be that bad. It depends on a lot of situations though. I hope your ok and don't have to experience that. It does sound awful. They might be wrong. I wouldn't worry until you find out for sure and ask if they can do that for you! Really hope everything goes well for you.

Not kidney stones, but the hormones from the pregnancy caused gallstones so when my daughter was 6 weeks old I had to go in to the hospital to have my gal bladder removed. I can say that hurt as much as pre-epidural labor did, if not more than!!

I passed a kidney stone while I was pregnant. It hurt pretty bad, but nothing like the later birth did! I had a lot of lower back pain and was told it was sciatica. I woke up one morning with stabbing pains...thought something was wrong with my daughter. I got up, went to the bathroom, and passed some tissue and blood. I called the doctor, got in, and found out I passed a stone. It is really painful, but in my experience labor and childbirth were much worse. Be strong...if you can have a baby, you can pass this no sweat!

I've had gallstones too and had to have my gallbladder removed. My body has a hard time processing calcium! Yes, definitely go see a doc and have it checked out!

I have had 3. I would rank the pain up there with labor pains, but it doesn't feel the same. I felt a horrible sharp, stabbing feeling in my flank area. They honestly didn't hurt very much when I passed them, the pain was when they were traveling from the kidney to the ureter.
It depends on what type you have...I have calcium oxilate ones. There are things that you can change in your diet to avoid them (strawberries, nuts, spinach...). A doctor also told me they tend to form in dry kidneys, so I drink tons of water (at least 2 liters) of day and a glass right before bed. I have not had one in 6 years and I pray to never ever have another. Those mo'fo's HURT!!!
I hope you don't have them, but if you do, I hope they pass easily and painlessly for you! Best wishes!

i had a kidney stone when i was 8 months pregnant, it did feel like labor pains, it is the worst pain in the world next to child birth. and the only thing you can do is drink plenty of water and take a warm bath. good luck, try not to drink as much caffeine.
