There are lots of ab workouts, but keep in mind, you need to work ALL muscles. The more muscle mass you have the higher your metabolism, which means you'll burn more calories throughout the day. You can do 2000 crunches a day, but if you still have an inch of fat over them, you won't see that 6-pack.
Do lots of cardio - jogging, treadmill, eliptical, biking, etc. Cardio, as well as weight lifting, burns calories. It all goes hand-in-hand. Gotta get rid of the fat to see definition of the muscles.
Specific ab exercises that work for me, personally, are 1) DECLINE situps (this can put a strain on your back, so I suggest doing lots of lower back strengthening exercises as well. Also, your back and chest are the largest muscle systems in your body, so its very important to train these regularly!) 2) Vertical medicine ball situps 3) Chair leg raises 4) Regular floor/exercise ball crunches
Workouts that require balance work your core, so when training biceps/triceps for example, flip over a bosu ball, stand on the flat side and it will increase the difficulty as well as work EVERY muscle in your body. If you have a workout partner, they can also throw a medicine ball to you while on the flat side of the ball- bosu balls increase balance and if done properly, can be a great addition to you workouts (http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/ar...)
Good luck! :)
