I'm 32 wks and 6 days and I haven't gained much weight and I'm really small for 8 months. The doctor said that I was fine, and that my uterus is as big as it's gonna get. Have any of you been in the same situation?

Thank you all for the replies! =) I feel a lot better knowing that others have had situations with their weight during pregnancy as well. I had a little morning sickness in the first trimester, I would mostly just feel like I was going to throw up, but I wouldn't most times. Well I have always been about eating well and give in to cravings every once in a while. You all have definitely reassured me that everything will be okay! Thanks so much! =)

Oh I forgot to mention, I don't have morning sickness with this one but I am nauseous a lot. I have to be careful what I am around or I just turn green, my doctor told me that's probably why the weight loss as I'm eating smaller amounts of food through out the day instead of actual meals and it's mostly food that has very small to no taste/smell. =) Fruit, bread, toast, raw veggies, sandwiches w/ meat to get protein, etc.

I'm in the same boat but not as far along. I'm 22 1/2 weeks and having been losing weight. It concerned me at first as with my first 3 I gained something, it was never much, my first was only 20 lbs and then 10 lbs with the other two, but I was always told weight gain in a pregnancy was normal. Well apparently that's wrong nowadays too. lol. While it is typical for some women it's not as normal as it used to be and doesn't mean your baby will be any healthier than others. After seeing my last ultrasound though I felt better about it, I have a very large, healthy baby boy on the way. I'm still wearing my regular clothes and don't see me digging out my maternity clothes any time soon, though with the weight loss I'll probably have to go buy new ones anyway. lol. Hope you mind has been eased by the responses, and congrats on baby. =)

I am having trouble gaining weight as well .This is my third baby. With the first I was put on bed rest and ended up gaining 40 pounds. With the second baby I gained 20 pounds, but withe the first two I had severe morning sickness and loss 10 pounds in the first trimester. Right now I am 19 weeks. I look like I could be 6 or 7 months pregnant, but I haven't gained a pound. I also didn't have any morning sickness with this pregnancy, so I haven't lost any weight either.

i had a friend that hardly showed when she was pregnant with both of her kids. she was small to begin with and couldn't gain much weight. they tried putting her on boost, morining shakes but she still didn't gain a whole lot. just eat right and take your vitamins and you will be fine. if the doctor told you that you were fine and the baby is good, then you have nothing to worry about. congrats to you and enjoy your new baby

I was the same way. I was 20 when I had my son I weighted 100 and I weighted 110 at the end of my pregnancy. I only gained 10 pounds and I didn't even look pregnant and my son came out weighting almost 7 pounds. So figure that one out... lol

Is this your first? With my first, you couldn't tell I was even pregnant until I was at least 7 or 8 months. With the second, I actually lost about 20 pounds. I threw up at least 3 times a day! With the last, which was twins, I may have gained 10 pounds. Believe me your uterus will get much bigger than you think!! My first was 9 lbs 8 oz., the second was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 2 weeks early, and the twins were 6 lbs. 4 oz. and 5 lbs. 6 oz. and they were a month early. It amazes me what your body can go through when it comes to having babies!

Yep. Me. Every time I tell people that I`m due in 2 weeks they think I`m joking. The midwife says its cos I`m slim and tall, baby has enough space inside my body, he doesnt need to move outward.

Even with my first one people only started noticing that i was pregnant when I was 8 months.

Don`t worry, rather like this than suffering with aches and pains because you have big tummy. Believe me, thats way it`s easier to get rid of your tummy after birth:-) LOL

Hi, I was so ill in my first 3 months, that i lost weight, and only picked up a total of 11kg's during my pregnancy. It was not a bad thing. Did make me worry at times, but my gynae was very happy with this, and as long as your baby is safe and growing well, there is no reason to worry :)

I've heard of women actually losing weight during pregnancy (baby weight displaces body fat). Just make sure are eating a balanced diet and taking vitamins. The baby will be fine no matter what, but your body needs replenishing of nutrients constantly. Lots of water too. I stayed very small during my pregnancy too. My doctor said I only gained baby weight. Afterwards, I was right back at my original weight. Pregnancy is the best time to be as healthy as possible. In other words, only eat foods and beverages that benefit you. Good luck! Your little one will be here in no time!

Hi. i was the same for the first 5 months, i actually lost roughly 10 kilos due to morning sickness in the first 5 months but I later became huge and had a 8lb.6 baby. A few of my friends have stayed tiny but due to their uterus sitting further back, so they didn't show as much. But their was nothing wrong with their babies and a couple came out roughly the same size as my did. I hope it all goes well for you.

I was the opposite I was always huge but i never gained weight. I only gained 4 lbs with my first and 11lbs with my second. My last was 30 I think. I had horrible morning sickness, or should I say all day sickness, and lost 50lbs in each pregnancy except the last. But i know lots of people who barely show at all. A couple of them had 9lb babies. I am sure everything will be fine.
