When your child gives you signals, that she ist ready and knows, what happens with the body. If it is when your child ist 18 months old oder 3,5 years, depends on the child.

Your child will give you hints as to when they are ready. They may say things like potty, pee pee, poop, and so on. As well as sitting on a potty (with diaper on) without being forced. If they want to go then don't stop them, and don't get angry if you sat for a half an hour and they didn't go. As for pull-ups they are a good idea if your child has the ability to pull their own pants up and down by themselves. Otherwise they are just a pain when it comes time for changing. Only your child can decide when they are ready. One good way to train (we did this with my oldest) is to go camping and take diapers away and put a potty out. At first they won't make it but who cares if they pee on the dirt? After a couple days they will make it half way to the potty and a few days later will have made it all the way! Be encouraging, and hopefully your little one will rocket to independent potty time. Good luck and I hope this helps.
