I had my son in January of 2009. He's a beautiful 20 month old toddler... potty trained, talking, no more ba-ba's! But I'm not ready for another one just yet (because I'm only 20) So I had a mirena put in. It's been about two months since I had it in and I've been CONSTANTLY spotting. I've had one normal period, which lasted a few days longer than before I had it put in... then I went back to just spotting. There's never a day without blood anymore. My check-up is in another couple weeks but I can't stand the bleeding anymore. Anyone else have one in that experienced something similar? And WHEN is it EVER going to stop?

i had spotting for the first 3 months...every single day for 3 months. as annoying as it was, i am so so so glad i waited it out!

spotting is totally normal. If it keeps up after a few months, you should check in with your OB.

Don't give up on it yet!! I did the spotting for over 3 months after I had it put in. I was in the same boat you are in now, ready to take it out!!! But I decided to hold off just a tad bit longer and then like a week later, I stopped the spotting. Now when it's time for my cycle I have one day of light spotting. Now I love having the mirena!! Don't give up!! If you have any other questions about it, feel free to ask!
