Has anyone with a disabled child ever done equine therapy? How did you like it? What were the benefits? Any drawbacks?

My son doesn't do this but i did work at a barn that was owned by a school that did this. It has MANY benefits. Kids bond with animals and just the horses size breaks barriers that otherwise would never be able to be broken. Horses have a natural ability to sense when something isn't right and therapy horses, in my opinion, are a great help to kids with disabilities, whether physical, mental or social. drawbacks- you can't bring a horse into your home to be 24/7 therapy.
