Scarlett has been using a sippy cup for a while now and drinks water and juice from it with her whenever she's thirsty and with meals..I give her 2 bottles of milk a day..One at her nap and bedtime but she refuses to drink milk out of a sippy cup..Any idea's on how I can wean her completely off the bottle...

I am going to try that again, I tried it a few months back but it seemed like my daughter just refused to sleep then and wouldn't drink the milk nor the water.. second or third try is the charm right? ha

I have the answer! (I HOPE) My doctor actually suggested this with my son. Put water in the bottle and milk in the sippy cup, it will confuse her and she'll probably be mad, but you have to break the cycle of her having milk in a bottle. She will prefer the milk over the water and it will be HER CHOICE to have the milk or water. This helpped me..it worked fast.

I am in the same boat with my 15 month old daughter, i have tired everything know to man and she will not drink it. I think its a comfort thing so i figure whatever works for her works for her, since she only has a bottle at nap time and bedtime and during the day she drinks from a regular glass for water since she honestly will drink nothing out of any type of cup besides water... its alittle odd but what can ya do sometimes.

She's drinking cow's milk...I just don't want to wait to long to take the bottle away because I'm sure it will be even harder..I will keep trying though..thanks for the suggestions so far..hopefully they'll help

My daughter Lacey is 20 months and still likes her bottles for bed time i would'nt worry about it for now, Lacey has no other comforter at bed time not a dummy or fav ted she just loves her bot bot so thats what she gets, Give it time and introduce it when she's getting ready to doze have two drinks ready one in her bottle and in her cup and swap as she's nodding off good luck x

My son was exactly the same. I ended up getting a child cup that had a built in straw so he was still sucking but not using a bottle.In the end he didn't take that either and it turned out he didn't really like milk just the comfort of sucking the bottle. I now have to make sure he eats alot of yogurts and fresh fruit smoothies that i add milk to so i know he is getting enough calcium etc

just keep trying. when she realizes that she isn't getting the bottle anymore then she will drink from the sippy cup...

Do you give regular cows milk or formula in the bottle?
If it's formula, maybe switch her over to cows milk using the sippy, if it's cows milk then i have no idea.
