And also, I use vaseline because it keeps moisture away, and it's very thick-and cheap!

My daughter had a bad time with it and our ped nurse over the phone said it could be yeasty in nature so she told me mix equal parts butt paste (zinc), neosporin (Wal-Mart equate version is fine), and anti-fungal creme (equate clotromazole). Apply it w/ every change and it always makes it better. Hope he feels better soon.

he may have developed an allergy to the wipes or diapers you were using...my youngest had a diaper rash for a month and then i started to change wipes and finally started to make my own and the rash went away in days

Maybe he's allergic to the diaper, diaper rash cream, or if he's allergic to a certain kind of food his bowel movements might cause him to break out in that area..I've heard of it happening before. Two months sounds like it might be something different than a rash if it hasn't gone away! Also, what might help is changing the diaper as soon as it gets wet..you may go through a lot of diapers but it may help it heal faster.

i agree, powder as well, we put powder on our daughter alot and she's never had one, and i put some on today after the desitin.

My doctor prescribed me the same thing for my daughter when she was younger. What I found out is that it wasn't about the cream it was about the diaper itself, some children are way sensitive down there so try changing the diaper brand. Also I put extra strength zincofax and that worked within two days of changing the diaper brand and cream. Good luck. Hope this helps :)

we use desitin and it works great for ours. shes never had a diaper rash and got one really bad today for the 1st time and i put some on there and it's already clearing up. it's not near as red as this morning. if shes a little red not a diaper rash but any marks i put it on and they go away not long after i stick it on.

baking soda baths help diaper rashes. Also, I don't know if you've already tried, but try the desitin purple tube, cause it stays on better, and put powder on him too. But if hes itchy because of it its probably just a yeast infection, but you would think the niacin would help that. If it is a yeast infection, keeping him dry will help it go down, my son has had them and sometimes they last for weeks. I hope it helps.
